Well... what a place ! Not!
First impression of the apartments was not good. On Entering the apartment it was clear within 10 minutes that there was no chest of drawers available for use. A "bureau" existed ( see photo ) of which all the drawers were locked - the writing desk of this bureau became
our underwear drawer! There were NO instructions on how to use the Gas hob - a Gas bottle was later found hidden in a cupboard behind a load of junk. Light bulbs were either missing or not working - this led to our first day spending an hour & more with the hotel "electrician" ( ! ) replacing an entire light fitting. After doing this he replaced a Halogen Bulb in the Kitchenette area - which after 5 mins of being powered EXPLODED! ( see photos ) this was quite some bang too with shards of glass everywhere and narrowly missing my partners face who was cooking at the time.
On the first day there was no kettle either, this was then provided - lucky i checked it too cos the lead was damaged and burnt such that the blue Neutral wire was bare and visible about half way down the cable length. Eventually we were given a new kettle. ps. use Mineral water for everything here - Not sure what the rest of Mallorca is like but the water was literally disgusting here. Even in the shower you can smell the ( guessing ) Fluoride. The bed was ok, but the bedding was terrible - a Bolster fitted with Two pillowcases instead a a proper cover. I also guess they don't sell big sheets in Mallorca as our bed had two singles laid sideways to cover the mattress - inevitably ending up tangled round your legs each night.
As for Air Conditioning - with temp in the 30's during the day our room was fitted not with Air Con...but, yes you guessed it a DeLonghi HEATER!!
( next to "bureau" in photo's ) The room temperatures at night were therefore unacceptable, god knows who would want the heater on?
This hotel is also FULL of Germans, even the Children's entertainment is in German, ALL the books and guides provided in the room were German and , yes, they really do "reserve" the deck chairs by the pools EVERY morning. ( This ought to be banned in every hotel ) We actually had to throw all the ( useless ) german books into the wardrobe to use the bookshelf as clothing racks!
Don't let any of this put you off Mallorca, which is great with plenty of diverse things to do, from the Palma-Soller 1920's train/tram, Beaches inc Nudist friendly at Es Trenc, Caves, good restaurants, Quaint towns like Arta and beautiful little Ports. My advice would be to stay away from these apartments. If i could re-book now knowing what Roc Las Rocas was like I would aim to stay in the area of Colonia Saint Jordi or the like next time - which is also a little closer to Palma and has beaches right on the doorstep.
