“Great summer holiday for all the family!!!”

On booking this holiday and reading some of the reviews, we were very apprehensive. On arrival, made to feel very welcome old hotel but very clean and suitable. All staff very friendly, and helpful.
Stayed on the on the 3rd Floor, on the side over looking the hotel next door which wasn't a problem. Would have rather had a pool / bay view, but middle of August (2011) so hotel very full. Room was very adequate, my partner had the most uncomfortable bed in the world (but still managed to sleep - helped by a few beers!). But with the room been at the side, it got the sun peak time in the afternoon and no air con. So very hot, when dressing for evening meal. Was later told by another family staying that you could hire an eletric fan.
Poolside fantastic, overlooking the bay. Plenty of room, plenty of bed for a small hotel (but you must get up early and place your towel to get suitable position pool side, as other guest have the same idea).
Also pool side bar, for drink and snacks. Variation everyday, not a lot of choice but adequate for a snack (Pizza, Chips, Fruit, Hot Dogs etc). But after the breakfast on offer, found we didn't need this facillity (but the kids did at 10 every morning with a plate of chips).
There was plenty of choice for breakfast from, full english, fruits breads and toast to cerials (a variety of continental choice). There were fruit juices, tea and coffee. Free to sit anywhere at breakfast.
Lunch variety of choice, hot and cold. Free to sit anywhere.
Evening meal, specified seating (on arrival) both lunch and evening meal waiter service for drinks. Variety of choice again, hot and and cold. From Soups, Fish, Chicken, Pork, Pastas, salad and great desserts. In all, a good selection you won't go hungry! A lot of the reviews we read before we went, critised the food we were more than happy and with kids at least they try something new, if they don't like it they can try something else.
Bar / waiter staff all very friendly, and made conversation.
Kidsclub, a couple of hours a day morning and afternoon. The german girl was fantastic with the kids, and why take kids on holiday to palm them off. The arrangements suited us, and just give us that hours break but staff always wanted to know where they could reach us. Mini disco on a night, most nights was the same but kids really enjoyed it and was eager to get back if we went out for a walk.
Short walk to the shops, local bars and restaurants and entertainment.
Would recomend this hotel, met some lovely people and a good mix of nationalities.

“Relaxing Summer Holiday”

Stayed here in August. Hotel was clean and had a lovely terrace, right above the bay which was very handy for boat trips. Food was good in the hotel and there was an excellent bar down the road which sold drinks at half price in the evening.

There were plenty of shops and restaurants on the roads round the corner from the hotel and good supermarkets for water and papers.

Overall a very enjoyable stay.

“Had a wonderful 10night stay.”

My husband and I stayed at the Cala Ferrara from Sunday 18th-Wednesday 28th September 2011. Didn`t arrive at hotel until 1.00am even though we landed at the airport at 9pm! This was due to the fact that we were kept waiting on the bus for people to arrive /driver checking his list of passengers/then drop offs at various hotels. However, when we arrived at the hotel, the night receptionist gave us our key (room 221). We weren`t very impressed with the room when we awoke the following morning as we were looking out directly at the hotel rooms next door (not a bit private). This was soon sorted the following morning when I complained that I wasn`t happy, as I requested a high rise room. We were then given the key to room 513 which was fantastic. It was an end room on the side of the hotel overlooking the sea/mountains/and nearby hotel - superb, except for noise at night. I agree with other reviews that the food wasn`t particulary hot, but there was plenty of variety and the salads & deserts were amazing! Entertainment was good on certain nights - Mondays/Wednesdays/Saturdays but the nights that weren`t good, ie quiz night etc, we walked into Cala Dor which is only 15 minutes away. Cala Dor Marina is also another lovely place to visit and took us around half an hour to stroll each way. We were very glad that we found the open top bus which took us to Mondrago beach which was absolutely gorgeous - well worth the 2.55euros RETURN and took around 20minutes each way. The buses are a cheap way of seeing other parts of the Island, although don`t always run exactly to the time-tables. Porto Colom and Callas de Mallorca are other places we visited just for a change of scenery, but we LOVED Cala Ferrera and the location of the hotel was just AMAZING! We did feel sorry for some other Welsh people we met who said that upon arrival at the hotel, they were told "no room-overbooked" and they had to be put up at another hotel, which wasn`t as good as the Cala Ferrera.

Room Tip: This is a 5 story hotel - I would request a room on the 5th,4th or 3rd floor because the views are f...
