Booked this holiday back in April 2011 for a stay in September 2011. From the moment I got off the plane it would seem that we were not expected.
1.Had to find our own bus to get us to Cala Dor – The rep’s advice at the airport was, ask him if he’s off to Cala Dor, if he is get on!!!!

2.I booked the Cala Azul Park. I was dropped off by the bus at Cala Azul reception. Unfortunately we were staying at the Cala Azul gardens, 200-300 yards away, 5 cases, toddler & pushchair & 2 pensioners. No rep to advice, thanks Thomsons.

3.I booked 2x 1 bedroomed apartments; I was then told that we only had 1x 2 bedroomed apartment. After a few choice words back to England by phone at my expense, a 3 hour wait, I did finally get my 2 rooms.

As you can see, Thomsons seem totally inept at organising anything in my opinion, Cala Azul blame Thomson’s, Thomson’s blame Cala Azul, meanwhile the holiday maker loses a day of his holiday that he has worked hard all year for. After complaining whilst there & once I got back to the UK , Thomson’s have kindly sent me a letter to tell me that they have read my letter and hope I book again with them next year. I can tell you all now, that my holidays are booked for next year, and not 1 of them is with Thomson’s. Take heed of this, if you’re going to book, book directly in my opinion, just look at some of the other reviews, its happened to others.

Apart from the above, Cala Dor is a fab, clean & friendly place for young families, I will return and have no problems booking with Cala Azul again, I just won’t be using Thomson’s.

Start at the beginning, once you get over the fact that whatever sunsave say the proce of the holiday is when you look at the website, it aint by the time you ring them, don't worry sunsave you all do it! If you don't want to book online go to Thomas Cook. Anyway, Sunsave were efficient and even rang me a few days before to make sure I was ready. Ryanair, you can think it, nothing I could possibly type here will change anything. Helpful hint, if you are woried about the weight of your suitcase, find a closed check in desk and use the scales as they are invariably always on! Record and Go rentals, top rental company, brand new car!

The resort, superb, it was the end of the season and quiet, that was fine by me, we went slefr catering and were given a complimentary breakfast and dinner voucher, it worked, we paid for two more breakfasts and one evening meal, the choice was outstanding! Hint, if you have dietry requirements, speak to the person who books you in or one of the managers, don't try and reminstrate with the waiters or cooks, at best they speak conversational English, better than my conversational Spanish, and will not understand you.

The rooms, superb, maid service, superb, pools, spoilt for choice. Hint, use the indoor pool at your own risk, this hotel's idea of health and safety is just to keep pumping it full of chlorine and it is unsupervised, no matter we were lucky for the last week in October was sunny, mainly.

The views, superb, the sea, superb. The island, I am a fan despite returning after 5 years since our last visit. Once last hint, it seemed to mainly fully of our European partners, as long as you are happy with that, I was. It made for a thoroughly relaxing holiday.

Last tip, get a Thomas Cook cash card nuff said.

we stayed at the Cala Azul Park in from 28th May - 4th June. The apartments were very clean and the maid came every day. They were pretty basic though. I also got my towel stolen from the balcony - we were on the bottom floor tho.
The food in the restaurant was really lovely. We got a complimentary breakfast and evening meal - which were extremely good and lots to choose from. Our little girl of 18 months was trying everything and especially loved the individual chocolate mousse.
We would go back again but not at that time of year as the weather was very hit and miss. There is not much to do on a rainy day - and we have quite a few of them.

We stayed here what must have been the german school holidays ,as everyone that came had at least two children who literally spent all the holiday screaming in the pool.The apartments were excellently clean and spacious but if you were self catering very basic equipment.We were in the azul park side but on reflection would have preferred to be in the garden apartments as it was less noisy and had more English people staying there.The resort itself is split into small coves and tiny beaches which get crowded very quickly,lots of restaurants but not a lot of bars and prices leave a lot to be desired.We don't think we shall come to this area again as there isn't a lot to do unless you like sunbathing and walking.
