“Excellent family hotel”

Stayed at the Corfu during the kids 6 week holiday, room was great ,had a great view over the pool and beach.Food was typical A/I fayre, could always find something to eat.Entertainment in the evening was very good, bit cheesy, but good fun. Location of the hotel is very good, and perfect for young familys. It is 30 mins walk from the main resort of cal a dor, but there are 30 shops within 5 mins walk of hotel, would return but only with grand kids.

“Okay for a short holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Like the recent reviewers, we also stayed during the half term holiday. We only had a short 3 night break and the hotel was fine for a short stay. I also don't feel that the hotel lives up to it's high rating. It was okay, but that's about it. As previously mentioned, the evening entertainement was held indoors after the first night and it the room just was not large enough. We were one of those families that had to bring in a plastic table. it ended up looking like a run down club. The food was adequate and my husband was also impressed with the english sausages & bacon. We managed to put together a decent meal, but don't expect excellence. the waiting on staff were very quick though, in one case taking hubbies plate away before he had even put is cutlery down. The other staff were friendly and hard working. The hotel itself is a bit outdated and could do with a re furb. The room was decent enough for 3 adults, but a little shabby. The sink was so high, I had to wear high heels to brush my teeth!! There is a step provided for children, but it's quite high & I would say dangerous for youngsters. Good Shower though. The pool had me flumoxed, is it for both of the hotels? If it is then there is no way it is large enough in high season, as the Skiorpos was closed & the area was still busy. If the Corfu only has the tiny pool on the terrace, that will be a joke. Cala Egos is a pleasant little man made resort and it is a nice walk in to Cal D'or. Santanyi was a lovely town with a great market (traditional as well as gypsy). All in all we had a nice few days, the hotel was good value for money and I would go again for a short break, but not for a main holiday.

“stay away at the end of the season otherwise you will be packed away with the rest of the stuff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Went on holiday here 23 october been the last week of the season reading lots of reviews from people before booking. We were looking forward to it! but sadly very let down the place was closing down around our eyes food terrible sunbeds all packed away entertainment stopped although the kids club was on through ther day, but was no mini disco at night. What can I say about the food not alot of luke warm choice to be had if you like pork then thats ok or fish if a little under cooked, kids buffet shut. plus side the hotel was clean. Along walk away from anywhere! After talking to the manager for some time also found out that thomas cook have taken control of the corfu and all english will be staying in there with a very small pool while the skopios side have the bigger pool but will have alot more europeans in would I return sorry no.

“Hotel Corfu was fantastic, will definitely be back”

My wife and I stayed at the Corfu (apparently the sister hotel Skorpios has been sold to Thomson???) from the 16th-19th October, the hotel itself was spotlessly clean all over, the beach was beautiful and the entertainment the hotel provided made the decision for us to go back next year with the children a formality. The food in the restuarant also for a all inclusive place was great with a fantastic selction every time and they even had real sausages as opposed to hot dog sausages for breakfast!!!

the staff were all friendly and great at serving the many guests from Scotland, England, Holland, Germany and France, the kids Mini Disco seemed a favourite and their enthusiasm for bingo was almost infectious which is a little worrying when i'm only 37. The weather we had was beautiful which no doubt made the holiday even better, we had a great time exploring the area and the gorgeous coastline around this part of Majorca, would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

“Half term hols”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Just had 8 nights at the Corfu over half term and disappointed after reading some excellent reviews. This was the last week of the season and the everything was being run down in readiness to close on 1 Nov. By friday all the sun beds had been pressure-washed and chained up for the winter leaving all the pool areas bare - we had to ask for some to be released for the guests to use!

The entertainment was poor and half-hearted. The outside stage wasn't used after our first night and the inside area wasn't big enough to cater for the numbers needing seats. Guests were reduced to bringing plastic tables and chairs in from the terraces and the whole place looked a shambles.

All drinks outside the restaurant are served in plastic cups which I hate.

The food was plentiful but generally over-cooked. Salads and fruit were the saving graces.

The music played by the pool was shocking - lots of explicit tracks with terrible language and content. The manager said the staff downloaded songs from the internet and possibly didn't understand the language used!

We booked 2 rooms for family of 4 and very glad to have done so as the extra beds wouldn't have been big enough for teenagers - actually worked out £200 cheaper than us all being in 1 room

The beach and surrounding area is very nice but in October most of the shops and restaurants are closed making it all look very deserted.

We've had a relaxing week and made the most of everything - the children were happy and it was a safe hotel for them to wander about and do their own thing and we discovered some lovely scenic walks.

We wouldn't go back at this time of the year and feel that the beach and pools would struggle to cater for all the guests if the sister hotel next door was open too.

Not a disaster but definitely not in our top 10!

Room Tip: overlooking pool and beach seem best check out booking 2 rooms for family of 4 with teenagers - mig...
