My husband and i went to this hotel april 2006 room very clean balcony wich overlooked the port ..... food beatifull dining room with allocated table for eveining meal meals were buffet style with very good selection .... and excellent service.......nothing was any trouble. Rooms cleaned daily pool area clean and on the day we had to reluctantly leave we were given another room to use for the day very reasnoble charge no hesitation going back to it. We recently went back to cala bona and the hotel has expanded into the building next door staff are still there and still as friendly visitors travelled from far and wide to just sit at the tables outside and have a meal or drink ...wonderfull hotel....... book well in advance as they are very popular. Great entertainment provided with good variety.

“Annexes too far apart”

This is the third time we have stayed at the Cala Bona. The reception and the running of the hotel is first class as usual. The food has gone down hill, maybe because it was getting towards the end of the season, we have never been stayed at the Cala Bona in October before. The soups were made up of liquidised potatoe, to make them go further. ( in our opinion) On one occasion the beef was so tough you would need a scalpel to cut it. The head waiter was informed. As for the entertainment, if you didn't have dinner early, you stood no chance of getting a seat. It would appear that the bingo players would stay in their seats, in time for the entertainment, and they came from any hotel !! We have been very lucky with our accommodation. Because my wife has walking difficulties we were grateful that the hotel honoured our request for a room of our choice. Some of the annexes are about 150mtrs from the dining room, a long way to go if it is raining. Because of my wifes walking difficulty, we hired two mobility scooters for two weeks, we saw places that we would never have seen otherwise.

We love this hotel ideal position, near to lovely bars and restaurants, beach, marina and local shops. The hotel staff are friendly there is entertainment every night - overlooks the marina. During the day see the local fisherman come back with their catch. The food is very good at The Cala Bona something for everyone - rooms are clean and regularly cleaned with fresh towels. Nice and flat easy walking and ideal for people who may have a walking disability - lovely walk to the next resort. You can hire bikes, which we have done great fun especially with young children stopping off here and there at a local cafe for refreshment. We cannot fault the hotel, we have been back time after time meeting other people who we have met before at this hotel. Hopefully we will visit the Cala Bona again next year. We feel sure if you are thinking of going to this hotel you will enjoy yourselves.

Room Tip: For a nice view have a room overlooking the marina whichis at the front of the hotel, the only thing...

“not as good as last year”

cala bona is one of the nicest resorts i have visited and would return again but not to the cala bona hotel, the hotel is in five blocks, the main block where the bar is situated has recently been refurbished and the bar area is lovely, and yes it was bingo every night bar sunday and tribute bands most nights and extremely loud, the rooms above the bar have also been refurbished and as people have already stated staying in these rooms would be very noisy, we never played bingo because we liked to eat about 8ish and bingo was on during the times people were having there evening meal {think bingo was 8.15 and evening meal was 7 til 9} i would of thought it should of been played after evening meals has finished so everyone had a chance of playing, if you did want to play you were lucky to get a seat cos people from other hotels and apartments were allowed to play as well. We paid extra for a sea view room, our room was lovely and clean with a large balcony overlooking the harbour, the only downside was our room was in the block past the hotel consul, fortunately the weather was great but if we would have had rain it would of been an absolute nightmare going for meals, the dining room and pool is in the block behind where the bar is situated. i didnt have a problem with any of the staff i found them all friendly. We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of september and the balcony was never cleaned or even swept once while we were there, we got clean towels everyday, we arrived on a saturday and the sheets were changed on the tues but werent changed again until the day before we went home which was 10 days, think the maid must of forgot us, the food has gone down since last year, plenty of choice at breakfast but never hot, last year had gala dinner on a friday night its now called spanish night but no gala dinners, no king prawns, bit of a disappointment really food wise. this hotel is not cheap to stay at, so for the amount of money we paid we could of stayed at a 4 star with better food and not had to walk from one block to another for our food, just one more thing, the block we stayed at had steps leading to it with no ramp, and as i have a wheelchair was a bit of a nuisance having to get in and out of wheelchair while my husband had to drag the chair up and down the steps, not ideal, there is some kind of lift at the side of steps for wheelchairs but this never worked the whole time we were there, and others had said that it had never worked, so all in all no i dont think i will go back to the hotel cala bona

Room Tip: you need to pay for a sea view room its worth it but it is expensive

“!!!!”

My Husband and I decided we would like a short break, without travelling too far and therefore chose this hotel on the advice of travel agents as we wanted to be somewhere we could walk out to in the evening to access bars/restaaurants etc. I have to say (sorry to those disabled and elderly) that it was like visiting a nursing home! The hotel is situated in different blocks, and where my husband and I were situated meant we were not able to access the bar or coffee facilities. Within the room which was extremely dated - orange walls and orange striped curtains, I was very disappointed, mouldy shower curtain, (which they did change)no tea or coffee facilities and at such a distance from the main hotel, you would have had to pay for room service, in fact it appeared you would have to pay for everything, hairdryer, fridge, tea, coffee, kettle, safe, commode!! wheelchair, bath lift, on a daily basis. The bed was very uncomfortable but in fairness they changed the mattress which was helpful. In fact we had paid for breakfast but chose to go out to eat as the breakfast queue up was totally depressing in terms of it appearing a bit like a holiday camp, and I still cannot understand why the country of oranges has machines full of concentrated quite frankly disgusting watered down 'stuff' that bears no resemblance to the juice available elsewhere. I am 57, hubby 52, but love to mix with others of different ages, I would suggest you don't go to this hotel unless you are on your last legs as we found this totally depressing!!!!!!

Room Tip: Air transport extremely poor as we waited for about an hour to transport to the hotel, the driver, r...
