Stayed 7-14 Oct 2011 Room 407 - high up with rear pool view and massive balcony which got sun from 4 to sunset. Room huge with seperate hallway and big bathroom with good pressure/hot shower at all times. Breakfast was fine, cereals, fruit, sausages, dodgy bacon and eggs any way you like them, including omlettes. Coffee in machine was our only criticism of this hotel - it was dire, no matter which button you selected - would gladly pay more for decent coffee in the morning, especially since there are no tea/coffee facilities in any rooms - another slight downside. Other than these 2 issues, it's a great hotel in a fab location. We stayed here in 1988 and returned to see if Cala Bona had lost its charm, but happy to report that it's still a great small Spanish resort not yet ruined by lager louts/soccer bars and disco biscuit ravers partying to sunrise - long may it last. Entertainment next door at Cala Bona Hotel is the best around, lovely setting and great seating outside for us smokers. Pool at our hotel was pretty cold and small but fine. Poolbar however was a real letdown - small plastic glasses of beer crazy prices - go to Miguels right next door - brill service, great staff and good prices. Julies Sandwich shop 100yrds from our hotel does the greatest stuff around (was also handy for water/beers at 4pm for balcony time!). Tabac shop 150 yds to right of hotel for 16 cartons on way home,no hassle,no card scams. Cala Bona is great place for families/older couples - party people, head elsewhere - all shut by 1am around harbour. Hotel staff and Cleaners all pleasant - nice weather also boosted this trip - it was 27-31c throughout the week, unusually hot according to the locals. We paid £100 p/p B&B so it was a bargain via travelrepublic (again) and, as per usual,no problems. This hotel would make a whole lot more money at the bar IF they had seating OUT FRONT, like the Cala Bona Hotel - it's what people want when they go abroad, especially given the fab harbour-side setting. If you've booked this hotel, relax - you'll love it. Wish I sitting there now - enjoy.
Room Tip: Harbour view rooms are odd numbers ie 401/405/307/209 etc ask for 4th floor- biggest balconies and s...
