“Lovely relaxing break”

My husband uses a wheelchair and the facilities at this Hotel were fab for us, ramps all round and a lovely walk-in shower with pull down stool and a bar by the raised toilet. The room overall was excellent, kept really clean and towels and bed linen changed nearly everyday. Food was good too, especially the fresh cooked on the griddle by Bea The outdoor pool was too chilly for him to use but the indoor one was amazing, really warm. Excellent position on the flat enabling us to go for lovely evening strolls. Beach just across the road. We will be visiting again for sure, very relaxing break.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the pool and was lovely

“In every way it is a fantastic place, best holiday for many years”

a party of 8 we had three 15 year olds and a 11 year old. arrived on 21st aug for a 12 night stay. we e mailed in advance to ensure we got three rooms together adn we did in block 3 overlooking the promenade and over the perfume shop. hotel definately caters for 90% Germans, but that was ok as we did not go for evening entertainment in hotel. Pool can get quite shaded during day but thats a bonus when its so hot, anyway the beach is "yards"away across the main pedestrian prom. we shared time between the Cala Bona beach, which is man made and not soft sand and the Cala Millor beach which was about a 10 min walk which passes quickly due ot the sites on route. Hotel was clearly worth its 4 star status, food extremly good with a funny head chef busing himself around the hotplates. Rooms were big with seperate bedroom and lounge. we even had a free safe! pool side beds were not towel covered until after 9am a BONUS. Evenings meant a walk to either the bussling Cala Millor centre via the promenade, watch out for the bikes on the cycle path!!! or go the other way into Cala Bona to the excellent harbour area and beyond with wonderful coastal views. All in all can not give any negatives and although the therapy area with spa does attract quite a few disabled people to the hotel and jhas very few Brits staying (not a bad thing sometimes, if you have experienced family themed holidays before!. Would certainly go back fro a break or holiday at any time - 10/10 overall.

Room Tip: no room is badly situated, the ones over the pizzeria may have extra noise from the singers but it d...

“Wee gem of a find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

Stayed at the Cap De Mar from 10th August - 20th August 2011 on a HB basis.

After a 2 - 2 1/2 hour transfer we arrived at the Cap De Mar.

On arrival reception staff were friendly and helpful. Although they did not speak fluent english we managed to get by and they were lovely.

Room was an adequate size. Spotlessly clean. Fridge. Bathroom was good with a very up to date walk in shower. Maid service most days and towels changed. We were on 2nd floor with a room overlooking the pool - lovely. Only down side to the room was that we did not have any cutlery facilities at all to make snacks at lunch time.

This hotel is a lovely wee find. Think it suited us because it was quiet, family friendly and not too big. The area also felt very safe.

If your looking for a lovely relaxing beach holiday - this is the hotel for you. We were literally 10 steps away from the beach. As I read in other reviews, the pool is not large and does get quite shaded during the day - but we coped with this as the beach was so close.

Entertainment - all german....!! Hotel... full of germans!!. I think during our stay there were maybe 3 british families during the 10 day period. Kids Club ran by Jana - she tried hard and although my daughter tried to join in with the singing and dancing, again it was all in german!

We usually travel All Inclusive but this hotel only did HB. Lovely food usually something to suit all 4 of us. You get allocated a table at the start of your holiday and this is the same table for the duration of the holiday. Most of the waiting staff were very nice and friendly. The older guy Sebastian was a bit of a grump but there is always one!! and the manager was always on hand to keep an eye on things - very well run wee place. It did get busy where the cook did show cooking but the queue was not long in moving.

Drinks were a complete rip off as is usual with HB. Two small and I mean small bottles of water and two cokes or lemonades set us back £8 every tea time. You could not get jugs of water!

There are two Spar shops right out the front of the hotel one straight ahead and one to the left which will keep you supplied with water, drinks, rolls etc.

The beach beside our hotel was a wee bit gravelly and a wee bit rocky so you had to watch getting into the water. There is a lifeguard and it seemed to be a great wee beach for snorkelling. We walked along the promenade to the other beach at Calla Millor a good 10 minute walk and found this beach to be extremely busy with sunbeds literally on top of your neighbour but the beach was nice and good waves for the kids to play in. However having been to both beaches we actually preferred the one outside our hotel because it was far more family friendly and smaller.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to you and it is probably one of the better hotels we have stayed in recently. We probably paid the same for HB as we do normally for all inclusive but I think this was by far better. Spotlessly clean and nice staff... and if your going to have anything to grumble about it would be the Germans taking over the place.... but shut your eyes to this and you will find yourself a lovely wee hotel.

We flew with Easyjet for the first time and booked through Sunmaster.co.uk and I must say it was as good a service as booking through First Choice or Thomas Cook which we usually do.

Normally would say I never go back to the same place twice but give it a couple of years or if I wanted a quick short break I would certainly contemplate this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool probably better. There is some noise occasionally from the bar downstair...

“Overall nice, clean hotel but lack of information”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

We'd read the reviews before booking our week in the Cap de Mar and were hoping for a reasonable hotel. I had emailed the hotel a few days before arriving requesting a quiet room so were quite horrified to be led to a block over the top of the pizzeria where there was a singer who was very loud singing until about midnight. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the apartment, it was quite large, modern and beautifully cean. Unfortunately as well as the live singing we had to contend with the neighbours from hell who insisted on singing, playing music, shouting, banging on walls, etc til the early hours of the morning. To be fair when we complained someone came straight up to the room next door and moaned at them. Eventually we moved rooms to another block as the manager described them as "crazy, crazy people!"

The positives of the hotel as well as it being extremely clean everywhere, are that the buffet breakfast and dinner is of good quality, although not quite as much choice as we've had elsewhere. We did enjoy the food though. Amazingly we could always get sunbeds up til past 9am, whereas it's been about 6am in other hotels! I think this is because lots of people go to the beach which is only a few metres away. The hotel is in a great position being so close to the beach, with a small harbour a few minutes walk to the left and a fantastic pedestrianised area all the way from one end of Cala Bona to the end of Cala Millor probably a good couple of miles in length. There are numerous bars, restaurants and shops all the way along and you can hire so many modes of transport to go along it - single bikes, tandems, bikes for 4, 6, 8 people, electric scooters, battery powered cars for children, go karts, etc. There are pony rides for small children past the harbour as well.

The negatives of the hotel are that it is definitely aimed at the German market with staff speaking very little English. The cleaning staff are fantastic but some of the reception staff are unhelpful and unfriendly. There is absolutely no information about the hotel or equipment in the rooms, you don't know how the lovely LCD tv works or the telephone. There's no info about the indoor pool and spa and we didn't realise anyone could use them until it was almost time to leave, we didn't know there's a computer for guests in reception as it's quite hidden. The outdoor pool is absolutely freezing even in August as different parts of it are in shade for quite a lot of the day. The positive about this is that for people with small children you can always find shade for them to sit in somewhere around the pool. Another negative for our particular family is that there is no outdoor area big enough for our 12 yr old son to kick a ball around in which led to him getting a bit bored sometimes. There is a pool table and a tennis table outside though.
On the whole we would recommend this hotel as the positives outweigh the negatives.

Room Tip: Blocks 1 and higher floors on block 2 have sea views but are probably the most noisy blocks.

“Great hotel, shame about the staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

Review from 10 year old Maisie:
"it's a very nice place by the beach. The outdoor swimming pool was amazing! and so was the indoor pool and jacuzzi. i would definitely go again."
Mum's Review: The location of the hotel is lovely, we could only just see the sea between buildings but looked down over the pool. It is situated right on the prom with Cala Millor and its sandy beaches a 20 min stroll to the right, and the lovely harbour a 10 min stroll to the left.
When we arrived, we found the reception staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Their English was very limited and I think that the hotel is much more geared up for German visitors who probably outnumbered us 10 to 1.
The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The shower rooms are well maintained and smart. The room had a large fridge and a kettle, but no tea or coffee so Take Your Own. I was expecting more of a kitchenette but there were no plates or cutlery, so if you are thinking of eating in the room, either buy something from the numerous Spar shops around or again, Take Your Own. Also beach towels are not provided, so TYO!
The restaurant was very good with a large buffet selection for breakfast and dinner. Most on hotplates, but some dishes cooked on demand. Plenty of choice and good quality for a buffet.
My main problem was the lack of information. There was no info on the spa or the fact that there was a computer with internet access for guests to use, we found this by accident. I never saw anyone on the bar and because of the indifference of the staff, you didn't feel you could ask. We were never greeted with smiles or even acknowledged and that was very offputting.
The housekeeping staff were friendly and our room was always spotless with pajama's folded, and teddies tucked in!
Overall, we found the hotel very good with plentiful food and a great location. We would certainly go again
