I'm writing this review as have visited this hotel twice this year and could not recommend higher.
Rooms - are very clean and the treble rooms are very spacious, with a huge veranda overlooking the sea which is a great bonus. Heard some people complaining about the size of double rooms but some friends had a double sea view room and while not as big as the treble room it was big enough to be comfortable, not cramped at all.
The food was great, some members of our party put on more than a few pounds during our weeks stay - all lost now though! 8 of us travelled the second time with all sorts of eaters including a vegetarian and everyone was more than satisfied with every meal. Breakfast is your usual options, cereal fresh fruit yoghurts, toast, full english, cold cuts and fresh bread and fresh made crepes. Every night there was plenty of choice even though it was close to the end of season.
The location is great for sauntering down to the marina in cala bona or along to beaches in cala millor - the beaches are beautiful there. The hotel faces the front promenade, but the entrance is to the rear of this, it would be great if there was a gate to gain access to the promenade - but it is only a few minutes walk round.
The staff are very friendly, from reception, to dining to the bar staff and entertainers and couldn't be more helpful.
The spa facilities are great, with a small indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna for a €5 charge.
The outdoor pool was great in July as is a good size and there are plenty of sunbeds on the sundeck, round the pool and in the garden with a great breeze coming from the beach to keep you cool. Also this hotel differs as you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a space - there are some that still do but there is plenty of space to get a sunbed at any time of the day.
Entertainment varied from night to night, the inhouse entertainment staff - or entertainer - it was a one man band thing but the guy Chris has been there for years, and is a refreshing change from the usual thomson team. He knows the area well and is a very nice chap, great with the kids and hosts all sorts of capers throughout the day to keep everyone entertained.
If you want a great, relaxing holiday, to chill out, eat and drink well then the Alicia is the place for you, I know I'll be going back.
Room Tip: Sea view means you will be facing the front, which has great views but also a pool view should be ni...
