3 star hotel - air con in room worked pretty well - all rooms appear to be twins. Have to agree with the other review about the beds - rock hard! The hotel staff were very friendly and one of the chefs used to work in Glasgow so has excellent English if anybody has special dietary requirements to ask about.
Food was mixed (mainly I suspect because of the German bias) but if you enjoy continental food there is nothing to fear- dishes were different daily - breakfast was not bad most days - buffet style with fruit, cold meats, cheeses, a choice of boiled eggs (sadly all hard boiled) and normally scrambled or poached. Either bacon, suasage and some very odd additions such as 'fried milk'. The lunches tended to be the best meals and as with dinner normally a choice of four main dishes, chips served at lunch and dinner. The orange juice was terrible - more like Kia Ora than orange juice, coffee was awful too.
The all incusive drinks include a local beer, white, red and rose wine (all not bad at all) and a choice of spirits - non brand name copies but generally tasted ok. Snacks were available outside of meal times but were not too good - normally bread, meats and cheese to make up your own sandwich. No nuts or crisps. At the bar ALL drinks are served by a single barman who although worked his socks off morning noon and night inevitably there was a queue in the evenings. There are no customer facing drinks in the single bar area. However in the restuarant wine and beer was on tap for the customers to help themselves.
Pool area was a little dated and only had a very small child friendly part, the main area of the pool was very deep by todays standards. Entertainment was spectacularly bad so we tended to abuse the drinks and then hit the town late on. Restaurant times were 8-10.30 Breakfast, 1.00-2.30 Lunch and 6.30-8.30 Dinner - which if you like an evening stroll at twilight along the sea front is way to early to finish serving dinner!!!
As most of the other reviews mentioned this hotel is heavily used by Germans - not a problem for me but if you want roast dinner and yorkshires this is not the hotel for you. We were the only English couple staying there according to
Verdict would have to be - no disaster but nothing terribly exciting either
