“Great for children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed at the Holiday Village in June 2011 and loved it !
Plenty for the children to do and the kids clubs are fantastic. Our son has special needs with no speech and we were nervous about him attending the kids clubs. We had no need to be nervous at all, they coped with him professionaly and never made him feel any different to the other children. Brian and Brett were his favourites so fingers crossed they are still there this year!
Food - there was plenty of choice and the option to visit the TexMex and italian once a week give a bit of variation.
Would recommend this hotel to any families with young children.

“Great hotel, staff and holiday overall, but... rooms need updating!”

We've just returned from a weeks AI holiday (4 adults, 3 children (aged 4yr and 2yr). Thankfully the weather was kind and remained hot considering it was end of Sept/Oct.

First Choice entertainment team were fantastic and worked very hard, and long hours. We used the Kids Club a few times throughout the week with no problems and my 4yr daughter really enjoyed it, including the face painting and making things etc. The main disapointment was the staff showed how eager they were to be going home as it was the last week of the season (so all First choice were going home too). which was a shame and it appeared they didn't do/provide as much as they should; either due to lack of team members, willingness, time available or equipment failure. We saw the same faces (staff) throughout the day playing many roles when I'm sure it should have been someone else or other activites offered.

The apartments are spacious, but need a good lick of paint and a refurb, unfortunatly some furniture was falling apart and needed to be fixed but according to a rep, First Choice have ceased the contract with this hotel for future years so this won't be a priorty.

Food was lovely, fresh and a good variety. Tex Mex was disappointing, very bland. Italian was better.

Pools were clean and warm with 2 lifeguards always on duty. Kids splash pool gets busy and noisy for obvious reasons. Main pool has a disabled ramp which is good, esp for kids that aren't too confident in the water. Sun loungers could have done with a wipe over as very grubby and sticky.

Free WiFi within the reception which was a bonus but payable internet computers are also available.

Transfer was just over an hour and first drop off hotel. Outbound transfer was a nightmare with 3 flights (stansted, manachester and glasgow) returning together on the coach and all queing together at the checkin desk!

Overall, a good holiday, great time of year to go (hotel only at 40% capacity)

Room Tip: Go beginning or end of season.

“Fabulous time! Worth all inclusive cost, brilliant staff”

Just returned from holiday village in can picafort. It was just as described and actually exceeded expectations. We did 11 nights all inclusive and our group consisted of two adults, 3 yr old and 7 month old.
The apartment was lovely and spacious and had self catering facilities too. We found the maid service excellent, even when our baby needed new cot sheets in the middle of the night, they were there immediately.
The beach was further than anticipated and slightly crowded, however for our 3 year old it was perfect sand for sand castles and paddling. A very pretty stretch of beach and still enough room to relax. So we didn't mind the 15 min walk to get there, would be quicker without the children and pushchair.
Food was really good could have done with an authentic Spanish restaurant rather than the tex Mex as we didn't rate that as well as the Italian restaurant which was superb. The cleanliness in the restaurants was impeccable.
The staff were all extremely child friendly and we were able to relax and really enjoy ourselves. The kids club was also really good

“Great place”

Will start with all the positives on arrival as we were self catering we got option to go AI and did so and it was well worth it. Having read some reviews i was a bit unsure of what to believe as we all have different opions. We were in block 2 facing onto a very quiet road not great view but for amount of time we sent there was perfect. The room was lovely size and the idea of the 2 showers is great especially for those with a few kids. The romm was cleaned and tidy everyday except wednesday and had no complaints. The food was very good had great choice each day and we never had problem getting table as we were greeted and shown to available tables. The staff work very hard and were always polite and smiling. The problem with AI i found was where do you stop. The pool bar was excellent never had any problem getting fod or drink and again staff worked very hard and quick service. We did try Itialian and enjoyed the food but found service a little slow but that was because we wanted to get out to the show as little lad had cert to collect. The kids club was brilliant so our 4yr old said and he went 6-7 times during the week at his own chioce. I was very happy with the signing in and out and one day went to collect him and scribbled my name and the girl asked i sign again as signature were not a match. The guys work so hard from morning till night they are a credit and always have a smile on there face. I would like to thank Billy and Sam our little man done 5 lessons and best €36 i spent got all the fear of water out of him and was swimming like nemo by the end. The Evening shows were very good but i do agree they could have little mini-disco for the small ones. I had few games of Bingo did not win but see why so many love it i must be getting old. All shows were very good but we only got to see a few as little man would start fading about 10-1030 but what i did see was very good well done guys. what wa sgreat was all the families we met or spoke to were very friendly and enjoying the crack. We would love to go again and would highly recomend for anybody with kids up till 10 not sure what it would be like in peak. Lots for adults to do as well had couple of games of ball and enjoyed the daily quiz but found out i'm not that bright. This is our first time AI and thought i would miss going out but we did not. The only thing my wife missed was the garlic bread. We flew with Czech and found them terrible at check in we got 3 seperate seats front middle and back they expected our 4yr old to sit with total strangers well away form us. I would like to thank a girl Joanne who swaped so mother and son could sit together. We were lucky coming home we all got together but did see family in same situation so be careful espically with little ones with this airline. They could do with more umberelas maybe have some on standby but overall never had problem getting bed and never went down before 9am We will deffo go again to holiday village
