Beach front location at the end of the longest promenade ever - great for the able-bodied and families who do not want to be in the busy town centre about 20 mins walk away. Good places to eat nearby (definitely try Pizzeria Venecia!) - better than town centre in my opinion. Our 6th floor apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and recently refurbished with a well equipped kitchenette. Nothing shoddy, grotty or tatty. Breakfast buffet really good - great variety, fresh, well presented. Clientele mostly German middle-class families and oldies.
The staff are open, friendly, happy, doing their jobs efficiently and keen to please. Only spoke German to them though so cannot comment on their English. Even the usually cheesy hotel entertainment was actually very good thanks to the unrelenting enthusiasm of the entertainments manager, Santino, who catered to kids and parents alike!
Indoor and outdoor pools very nice. Everything of a very high standard. For a hotel in the mass tourism industry this is really about as good as it can be. The only negatives are things beyond the control of the staff such as the sound insulation in the rooms (not great), the size of the restaurant and buffet area (too small) and the behaviour of some of the guests (loud and smoking in a non-smoking hotel). None of those things would stop me going again however as the hotel's advantages greatly outweigh these minor irritations. We had a great 10 day holiday with B&B option out of season (October) when the hotel appeared to be about half full. Must be very crowded indeed in Summer though.
