“Lovely”

Staying here at the moment and loving it! Food gorgeous, the salads are fabulous. The whole place is clean and tidy and the staff are very helpful.

It is 99.9% Germans visitors which didn't bother us at all, the TV has BBC1. Free Wi Fii in reception, a bargain if you have your own computer with you. Sun beds are free unless you want to be on the beach and it will cost you 15.Euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol.
This is the place for a quite relaxing holiday if you are happy with your own company or can speak German.

“Fabulous with a few flaws”

This was our first all inclusive holiday and we weren't dissapointed. The hotel was immaculate, the food well presented and changed everyday. The breakfasts are great! The hotel was full of retired Germans which meant that it was nice and quiet but the catering and entertainment was biased towards them. We slept ok as the beds are quite hard and would recommend not having a room on the first floor as all the noise below travels up through the walls, consequently we asked to be moved.
One negative would be the staff. Thye are not over friendly and at times made us feel very unwelcome especially the old man behind the bar who never smiled at the UK guests?! He was so unhelpful and rude I was quite taken a back. That said, we would go back as the location was fabulous and the sea and sights amazing.

“Great all-inclusive holiday”

Booked through Travelzoo for a late holiday, all-inclusive. Hotel claims 4 star rating (deserved) and was very good in virtually all respects. Rooms were kept clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Food quality and variety was excellent. Breakfast was far superior to the 4 star Best Western outside Colchester stayed at just a few weeks ago. Luncha and dinner had more choices than anywhere else I have stayed. Whilst most of the clients were German, there was no problem being British. Included drinks were generously served and available all day without question. Evening entertainment was available, but not forced down your throat as in some hotels. Hotel grounds border the promenade road with beach 10 metres away. All rooms seem to have a sea-view from their balcony. Rooms, though smallish, had a fridge, TV and hairdryer, as well as air conditioning. Satff were all friendly and waiting staff were properly trained - this is becoming a rarity in hotels and restaurants around the world. Felt at ease in the hotel - not a stranger or an unwelcome guest there for the money alone.
The only down point was the very average coffee. I have become something of an afficianado over time and am probably too fussy.
Overall, the best all-inclusive holiday we have ever had. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to my friends or in returning there again - can't say that about many places I have been. Hotel is part of a chain - Hoteles Globales, and we discovered that we had (unknowingly) stayed at another of their hotels in Tenerife a few years ago. That one too was really good.

“Really Good Hotel Would definitly recommend.”

Stayed in the hotel borneo for a week in july. Thought it was overall a great place to stay, the hotel and surrounding areas were beautiful and the beach is a 10 second walk from the hotel. The guests at the hotel were mainly german but that didnt bother me because the hotel staff never made us feel second best. We went all inclusive and found the food nice there was a good range of food and i thought it was good that when eating your meal you were served your drinks, when ive gone all inclusive before you have had to get drinks yourself which is not a problem but i thought the waiters serving drinks was a nice touch. Entertainment wasnt the great (as with most hotels) but they tried there best. Lots of activities for kids and teenagers to get involved in and a short walk takes you to where the main shops are. Hotel was very clean, staff polite and the pool was very nice and warm which is a bonus. Would definitly return to this hotel.

“wanted it to be great <<< but”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2010

Just returned from hotel Borneo (but when we arrived we were put up in Samba next door )First of many confusing days , Rooms were clean and all had some sea views which was nice , we were given an A4 sheet with meal times and snack times on it , but they never told you where to get the snacks (afternoon cake was at the pool bar ) and the night snacks 10 till 12 are in the main restaurant but be prompt as they go quickly. When you go in for lunch and dinner the staff come over to your table and stand??? we found out this was for ordering your drinks , house wine beer and soft drinks are served and are all inc but you can buy bottles of wine if you want, the house wine was nice ,staff on the whole were crabby and unhelpful but spoke excellent German, not much good to UK visitors however it didnt spoil our stay (we have been to majorca a few times and know its predominately German tourists) The indoor pool was refreshing ,the outdoor one was freezing but as the sea is on your doorstep we used that to cool of ,Food was amazing and so fresh with a chief on hand frying fresh fish and chicken each meal time ,choice was vast and even the choosiest eaters were catered for, all in all it was a good holiday we got what we paid for the resort was a bit quiet for us but we still enjoyed our week there.
