Sister hotel to Hotel Sumba, but quieter for some reason, not sure why. Excellent food, facilities, right next to glorious beach, good for families and not too far from centre of Cala Millor and its shops and nightlife. All inclusive option is great, with loads of variety. Only down thing is the coffee - if you want a cappucino, they give you a coffee with aerosol cream on the top! The animation team worked hard, although quite amateurish.

Having read earlier reviews I was looking forward to my holiday here. What a disappointment. Firstly I was told by people who had stayed here before that 12 to 18 months ago this was a good hotel, not now however. All inclusive is not all inclusive. Pool snacks for example are excluded. Service is poor and go out if you want a “quick” drink.
Food! This is the first time ever I have been offered Diced Carrots, Green beans and Potato Croquettes as a Breakfast option (if you don’t eat your dinner you’ll have it for breakfast). Most meals have 2 dishes made with stale fish and stomach upsets were very common. I ended up going out to eat even though I had paid for all inclusive.
The room was fine plenty of room and room service, apart from the vacuuming of the communal corridors at 8 a.m. was good.
The hotel is international (lots of German and a few French and Russians). Speaking to them they were not happy either.
Traveller Beware!!!

We booked our holiday at the last minute through Direct Holidays. We intended to go to Majorca for 7 nights self-catering. The package offered was for half board and worked out cheaper than S/C. We wanted a weeks break sitting on a beach and relaxing in the evening.
The Borneo is a four star hotel and well worth its rating. It is clean, airy and friendly. It is mainly geared towards Germans but staff do speak sufficient English to get by. The restaurant was exellent. Breakfast was 0745-1000 and buffet style and catered for all tastes. The evening meal was also buffet style and had something for everyone. The standard of the food was excellent. They cook their own bread in the middle of the restaurant! The rooms were clean and air-conditioned and were equipped with a ceiling fan. The air-conditioning was less effective in the middle of the night probably due to everyone using it. The hotel had its own indoor pool and whirlpool, crazy golf, table tennis, outside pool and beds. There never seemed to be a problem with getting a bed and parasol although we tended to use the beach which was approximately 45 seconds from the hotels front door! The beach itself was remarkably clean. Two sunbeds and a parasol was 10.50 euros per day. The water was crystal clear and ideal for kids.
The resort itself is also mainly geared towards Germans. We spent most of our time in the German bars as they were more relaxed and friendly. Their are English bars offering bingo, quizzes and Kareoke if you fancy that sort of thing. There are plenty of shops, pubs and bars. Everything tends to close by 0100. The evening entertainment for the clubbing teenagers seemed to be lacking so if you are looking for loud music and pub crawls stick to Magaluf or Palma Nova!
One thing that can be said for the Germans, they know how to behave! No drunkeness or loutish behaviour, so don't believe all you hear!
Overall, this was probably the best hotel / resort I have been to. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind, this is it.
