“Rustic Tuscany - just lovely”

This is a great place to stay, particularly for families. I stayed with my mum and one of her friends for a week, although they stayed considerably longer. The location was fantastic, right in the middle of Greve, just a few steps from the main piazza. We were impressed with the building, the space, the gardens and the little pool. The feeling is very rustic and cosy, nothing over the top, and also very personal - just the right ambiance for Tuscany. The owner, Monica organizes once-per-week drinks for the guests, which is a great idea. Monica, herself, is very charming and helpful, as was the maintanance guy/gardener...can't remember his name!
I was very lucky to have been invited on this trip - i would definitely recommend staying here.

“Charming owners, beautiful rooms”

We went to Greve for the annual wine festival, which occurs each September. If you are planning an Tuscan holiday in September, it is definitely worth attending.

We found this hotel via TripAdvisor. The garden is lovely. The rooms are large.

Monica, one of the owners, is a fabulous host. When we arrived, she had organised drinks for all the guests in the garden. There were many different nationalities but everyone got on well and became drinking buddies. We also attended the hotel’s annual Tuscan party, which was brilliant fun.

My only compliant is that the rooms weren’t particularly sound-proof and so we did get woken up on one night by the guests next door…

“A real chianti homecoming”

We stayed at Antico Pastificio (an old pasta factory in the center of Greve in Chianti) in the beginning of september. We arrived on saturday and did have a bit of a hard time getting in, you need to go through the piaza Matteoti and this square is closed on saturdays because of the market. But after you have found your way in and into via roma you get a nice side alley to the appartments. The appartments are very nice with lots of space (we got an upgrade to a 3 room appartment of 70m2) and there's also plenty of parking space.

Greve is in the center of Tuscany and city's like Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are all within 1 hours drive. In the second week of september there's a wine festival in Greve which looked very nice, they were starting the festival upon the end of our stay. You will however have some difficulties in that week getting to the appartments by car since the square is used for the festivities.

The staff is very helpful and manages quite well in English, they have visitors from all over the world.

In the center of Greve are several restaurants. We enjoyed The Cantina the most, the pizza's were the best we ever had.

“A wonderful stay!”

Some friends and I stayed here for 10 days in May 2009 and had the most fantastic time. Right in the middle of the village, walk 3 mins to get food supplies, plenty of restaurants, market on Saturdays. Walk to the Montiforelle Castle, bus into Florence. The accommodation was great, clean, pool and extremely helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend it and definitely go back, Greve is postcard perfect.

“Great spot in Tuscany”

Spent three nights in the main building and quite enjoyed ourselves. We had a bit of a challenge on arrival - you start at the main town square and go down a VERY small road to an even smaller one. When we arrived there was a large planter right in the middle of the road entrance. We asked at the info place- should we try to get through and they just replied "that is the road". So we barely squeezed ourselves safely past the planter (and we were driving a very small car) and moved the subsequent construction cones to get to the hotel. We found out later that the road was "closed" for our entire stay and there were no other "legal" ways to get to the hotel and the parking. However, all that aside it was a nice place, reasonable price and clean with lots of character. Our room faced the town and you do need to like church bells ringing every hour (for light sleepers a bit of a challenge) but all adds to the charm. Pool is beautiful, lots of restaurants in walking distance- markets on the weekend are quite interesting with lots of fresh produce. We had the best gelato in our entire Italy stay in Greve. All in all a great stay!
