“Real Rustic Tuscany”

Stumbled into this place by accident and was blown away by it's charm. Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside it is full of charm. Very spacious. The communal areas take up most of the ground floor and are HUGE. Table tennis tables, pool table, places to sit and relax it has it all! The apartments were great. We had the one accessible from the outside garden on the bottom floor. Lovely kitchen, although be careful not to open the hatch and fall into the dark cellar! Rooms were large and charming, bathroom clean. Lot's of information books and maps of the area. It was fantastic. The pool is small but just what you need. The other tenants were all very friendly, mostly australian, british or scandinavian. The garden is lovely and very big. Lots of space to catch a nice tan. The only negative was the mosquito infestation. There is a small stream that runs next to the grounds and is a breeding ground. So be prepared! I saw one guy who had about 30 bites. On each leg! Besides the mosquito breeding ground, the location is perfect! Two minute walk from the square, very central, close to the bus stops and the restaurants. It was perfect could not ask for more. Open a glass of good Chianti and enjoy it late in the evening in the garden with some good company. Doesn't sound like much but you really need to experience it!

“Perfect central Tuscan location”

What a great choice Antico Pastificio turned out to be. Our group of 2 couples stayed in the large 3 brm Mercantino apartment - 3 private ensuites, kitchen (but who cooks when you are on holiday!) and sitting area - no balcony unfortunately but there was an extensive balcony with chairs/tables downstairs. Garden and grounds in general were immaculately kept - the lawn looked like a cricket pitch! Didn't swim - water was a bit chilly - but the pool was sparkling clean. Plenty of parking for guests' cars out back in a secure parking area.
This is the trick - stay here and radiate out to all the Tuscan sights - Pisa, Lucca, Sienna, San Gimignano etc - during the day and venture back to this quiet haven in the evening. 100m from the town piazza with all you could want - banks, restaurants, delis, bakeries etc, and a larger supermarket 200m away as well. Food in all the local restaurants was great - and the house wine remarkable - never had a bad one in our 4 weeks through northern Italy.
Antico has its own laundry on site with washing machines and dryers.
Would definitely stay there again.

“Fantastic place to stay for a Tuscany holiday!”

We onkly stayed two nights at the Pasta Factory in Greve In Chianti, but we wished we could have stayed longer. It was probably one of the best and memorable places that we have stayed at during our three week trip in Italy. Fanastic value for money, huge room, swimming pool (it was 38 degrees when we were there), and the Greve old square a minutes walk away. I would highly recommend the Old Pasta Factory as a great place to stay when exploring Toscana.

“Great Hotel”

We found this Hotel very well appointed and close to the main square in Greve but far enough away to be very quiet. The room was very clean and huge, the only complaint was the bathroom was a bit dark and we would have liked a mirror in the room. We found Monica most helpful when we enquired about sightseeing around the Chianti area.

“Beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings”

I stayed at Antico for a couple of nights while attending a wedding in nearby town.
The hotel was full of character and in the perfect location..while all wedding guests stranded up the hills!
The town has excellent restaurants & cafes and is exactly what I expected.
The hotel is basic but clean and simple decor however some stunning pieces of antique furniture.
One slight critisism is that the cleaning staff could be a tad quieter in the morning along the halls.

Room Tip: Ask for the 2 bed apartment, its huge & has cooking faciilities
