this family run B&B is a perfect place to stay when visiting Piazza Armerina. It's about 2km from the centre of the town with a spectacular panoramic view from the terrace, breakfast room and also bedrooms. it's dead quiet at night, the price was only 70 Euro inc breakfast, each room has individual air con/heating (essential in Sicily) and the rooms and en-suite bathrooms are very spacious and comfortable with good beds. The couple who run it, Luciano and Maria are extremely relaxed, friendly and welcoming and both speak several languages. Maria is also a registered tour-guide and she does discounted rates for a tour of the Roman Villa which is a must-see

We stayed for one night at La Casa Sulla Collina D'oro in September 2011. It is a nice homey B & B with a fabulous view of Piazza Armerina. There were plenty of decks for viewing and relaxing. Our hosts provided great service and excellent hospitality. The bed was hard, but the place was very quaint and quiet so we still had a good nights sleep.

The breakfast was a feast fit for a king. Wow! It was really unbelievable. There was quite an array of pastries, jams, juices, meats, cheeses, and fruit. The variety was matched with the highest quality you can imagine. It was by far the best breakfast that we had in our two week stay in Sicily.

Co-owner Maria-Grazia, who is fluent in Italian, German, and English, is a certified tour guide Villa Romana Casale. That was very convenient. She charged my wife and I ten euro each, and we joined one other couple. Admission to the Villa was extra. I thought her service and knowledge of the Villa was excellent.

We spent two nights La Casa Sulla on our tour of eastern Sicily. I picked this B&B base upon the TripAdvisor reviews, and was not disappointed. The view is fantastic and the morning feast is excellent. We had no trouble finding the place and there is adequate parking to accommodate a full house. Our room was clean and comfortable, but a little dark for our preference. Nonetheless, we would definitely stay here again. Our host has a excellent supply of wines to purchase at a reasonable price. Disappointingly, the Villa del Casale was mostly closed to visitors a a protective roof was being constructed over a large portion of the site. What we were able to see was quiet interesting, but I specifically wanted to see this wonder for years and it was one of the primary reasons for coming to Sicily. If this is a major interest, I would wait until the construction was finished. Larry & Kelly

The view was great and the room was clean and functional. The staff were helpful and the owner takes you on a tour of the mosaics at the near by roman villa excavation for a charge which was probably too much. Be careful as the trip was quietly pushed upon us and before we knew what was happening we were on a tour.

However our stay was ruined by the bed (very soft old mattress). It sagged in the middle and I woke with terrible back ache on both mornings which took 4 days to clear.

There was an air that every last € gleaned mattered.
