As a family with rented car (must be!) we warmly recommend Villa Lumia for relaxing holiday in Sciacca, high quality old city in Sicily.People of Sciacca were very friendful. The town of Sciacca is at the same time modern and old.

House has very private atmosphere and feeling safety, even it is few kilometeres from center of Sciacca.View from terrace and beach is something you never forget ! Case Vacanze stuff was very helpful and friedly ; the best thing was, that they were easily available in the office in city center. As a Finnish family with children that was very important thing ( city maps, tips where to go and so on..)

We stumbled upon this place...almost literally! We were driving around the Sciacca area, unhappy with the apartment we had booked and then left behind. We met some locals who made a phone call for us and Ignazio arrived beckoning us to follow him to his apartment on the beach. We arrived and were very pleased with the apartment, one in our party was concerned about air conditioning as it was very hot. Ignazio kindly brought us a fan though he looked confused by our request. We later discovered that with the ocean breeze and sound of the waves there was no need for air conditioning and we were very comfortable for sleeping, etc. With the kitchen we cooked many meals and went to the market in Sciacca daily. Sciacca was a great base for us as I was researching family history in S.Margherita Di Belice, Sambuca, and Santa Ninfa. After a morning trek to a city and research; we arrived at Lumia and hit the beach. A very clean, perfect beach. because we were there in September it was practically a private beach for us!! I do recommend renting the umbrella from Lumia as the sun is very strong! Fabana and the other girls in the office were lovely and very helpful. It was much like renting an apartment from friends! I would recommend this as a place to stay for anyone in the area. When and if WiFi is ever available; Casa Lumia would rock with this addition!!

We visited Lumia Lux in june 2008. It was a wonderful place with a marvellous view from the terrace. Perfect with the beach just around the corner. Our kids loved the place. Sciacca is a very nice city with a lot of kind italians. The prices a lower compared to greece at the restaurants. The temperature was perfect for us from Sweden.

if you are looking for a total relaxation holiday this is your place. myself and my girlfriend spent a week here in june the apartment is located right on the fantastic beach front (about 1 1/2 miles long) which for 3 out of the 7 days we were there we literally had to ourselves and even busy periods such as the weekend there was only ever max of 50 people on the beach. the apartment was basic but very clean and very nice plus it was also spacious which beats being stuck in a hotel room for a week. there is also a nice kitchenette area for cooking which we used a few times although with the selection of fantastic seafood restaurants and italian cuisine restaurants in sciacca you probably would never need to use it. as its location is quite isolated (about 5 km from town or closest shop) you will need a car, however we rented a convertable for the week from avis for 263euro which hardly broke the bank. the town itself is very nice and is also located close to palermo, agrigento and trapani each being just over an hour away. all in all we had a fantastic holiday which i would recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing holiday. couples young and old familys everybody will enjoy this place. the staff at the agency who lease the apartment are also extremely helpful and nice. there were two downsides to our stay and to be honest they were quite minor, but nonetheless they could be improved. firstly there were only one set of towels (about 6 towels altogether, 2 large, 2 medium, 2 small) which i felt was a little bit short for a weeks holiday presumably you would get the same amount if you stayed for one night so that is an area which could be improved especially with luggage charges on most airlines which is the reason we were reluctant to pack our own bags with heavy towels. secondly we paid 10 euro extra (not a fortune i know) for the sattelite tv however there were only 2 channels in english both of which were news channels so that could also be improved. despite these minor faults i would definately recommend to a friend and definately go back again.
