“Remote Spot”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

Good Size Rooms. Comfortable large beds. Quite nice gardens.Nice pool.
Downside was Hotel in the middle of no-where,busy roads either side. Staff unfriendly, especially in the restaurant, never smiled or came when you asked them.Food not too good, extremely small portions. The entrance to the grounds was very scruffy, rubble, water tanks and view from the rooms unattractive with weeds and bricks and mess. No tea & coffee facilities in the rooms either. Dust on the furniture in the corridors,we marked our name on the table ,but it was still there at the end of the week! We were just a number, they didn't treat us like guests on a holiday!

“A great place to stay in Puglia”

We booked the hotel direct throught the contact details on the website, it was very easy but slow in replying to our request. When we arrived the place was a miniture paradise in a beautiful setting. We explored Puglia from there, you definatly need a car. Near was Alberobello with its historic trulli houses. On route to the coast to the hotels private beach location in Capitolo near Monopoli. The place is called PelleRossa, well this has changing facilities, bar, loungers and a restaurant with fresh pasta and ice cold drinks. There are plenty of places to visit and soak up the Puglian lifestyle - Ostuni with its historic white town pearched on the top of the hill, Fasano with the Zoo Safari (my children enjoyed the visit and the dolphin show) and then the breath taking town of Poligniano a Mare. Back to the hotel every afternoon to enjoy the pool and round sun sunbeds, enjoyed with a Aperol Spritz cocktail mixed at the bar. Dinner was great with a choice from an A la Carte menu, fresh pasta each night followed by a selection of Meat or Fish then fruit or a Italian dessert. Each night we ate outside in the courtyard with live soft music and candle light. The staff were very helpfull but on a Sunday its a bit more hectic with the Puglian buffet instead of the normal A la Carte. The hotel also has a small trulli village which you can stay in too. We will definalty return.

“Relaxing venue but we loved having a car!!”

The hotel is lovely - great staff although it helps if you try to speak a little Italian to them (it's not overly commercalised so some staff don't speak English). The hotel rooms are spacious - we don't recomment the rooms with balconies as the hotel is still doing expansion work so the view from the balconies is less than salubrious! No building noise though - we thought they could be adding shops which would be a good idea. It would be lovely if there were somewhere to walk to in the evening but you are surrounded by countryside - lovely by day, lonely by night...although hotel bar prices were not over priced. Nice pool area with free sunbeds/mattresses although pool bar closed in September - this shows how good the staff were - we booked coffe for 1130 and they delivered it to the pool - quite a walk with a tray! Take time to walk round the hotel grounds - the gardens were lovely.
The food was good - recommend half board pre-paid - half the price of paying on the spot.
Definitely have a car - roads are quite quiet - apart from Bari - but you need to visit around and about - Albero is bello and only 8 minutes to drive - there aren't a lot of stunning towns or shopping areas but for a daily trundle around it was essential.
Hope this helps...enjoy...

“Enjoyed every minute of our stay”

We have just returned from our stay at the hotel with Page & Moy Travel. Paying a little extra for a superior room gave us spacious accommodation with a jacuzzi. It would have been helpful to have a shower in addition to this as the jacuzzi took a very long time to fill and empty.
Food was well presented and a wide selection of local dishes were on offer. Staff were helpful and friendly. Plenty of places within the hotel complex to relax in or out of the sun.
A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

“We were staying on our honeymoon and the Hotel & staff made the whole experience totally magical.”

We booked independently through a travel agent but had also checked reviews on Trip advisor. We went with an open mind and were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted by welcoming and friendly reception staff. We were shown to our room and awaiting us was a bottle of Spumante and a bowl of delicious local fresh fruit. We were staying on a half board basis and the food for breakfast was more than adequate to set us up for the day. Dinner in the evenings was served outside and a choice of 4 dishes per course was offered. The food was 1st class and more than adequate, especially the risotto which was superb. The staff very quickly got to know us and were more than keen to help in any way. The waiters in particular were professional but friendly. We adored the pool and spent a lot of time there just relaxing and enjoying the tranquility. During our stay of 11 nights, there were 5 weddings but they in no way interfered with our enjoyment. In fact they enhanced it, the splendour of seeing Italians enjoying themselves and the follow up firework spectacle enabled us to share in a small part of "real italian life". To experience the local area however, a car is essential. We were extremely sad when our time to leave came.
