“Great Basic Base for Forio”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

I start with saying the staff were wonderful, pleasant and eager to please. Breakfast was average but not stingy - cereal, bread, yoghurt, selection of meats and cakes. Juices & coffees too. We had lunch there once and was nice. The pool was good, the indoor spa pool was lovely (watch out of the odd mosi) and the sunbeds plentiful and comfy. Our room was a little basic but clean and nicely decorated. The beds were a very sqeaky and a little uncomfortable - very narrow. no fridge/mini bar or tea & coffee making facilities which is a pain. The room we were in was very dark and at no time got any direct sun. But there was air-con which is nice. The shower was fab. The location is what sells this hotel. Forio is such a lovely town and it is a lovely 3 minutes stroll from the hotel to the centre and a 10 minute walk to the beach. If you get the right price on your booking this hotel is well worth a try.

“A nice friendly down to earth Hotel that makes you feel special”

This hotel was picked for us by the organiser of our Tango tour. On arrival they dealt with us in a most efficient and friendly manner. The room was of a good size, clean and everything worked the bed could have been a little softer but was still comfy. Facilities are great with a lovely swimming pool, and indoor spa pool. The pool bar/restaurent was great and the level of service was second to none. The Hotel is located right in the centre of Forio in its own little Oasis so getting into the shopping/Bar part of town is a 3 minute walk with the harbour an extra minute away. Food was good, bar prices reasonable. Highly reccomended

“Enchanting Encounter”

A Genuine hospitable encounter that you are bound to fall for. Genuinely friendly and helpful. Beautiful interior with chill out launch and bar, lovely restaurant with excellent food and entertaining surprises.
Thermal pool and spa treatments, Nice outdoor pool, lovely setting.
The isle has got so much to offer and you will get in to a very good feel, of being.
On the early side for lots of sun shine but still so nice.

Nicole

“Great 3 star hotel with excellent staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2009

Stayed here last week for four nights with my wife and I've got to say it's one the best 3 star hotels that I've stayed in. Good location, 5 minutes walk from the centre but set back far enough from the road not to be noisy. Booked directly with the hotel via email.

We stayed in room number 202, on the first floor with a massive shower and large balcony facing the front of the hotel. The room was pretty basic but clean and a good size. The TV was tiny and only had 1 English channel (BBC news) but there's no need to sit around watching telly on holiday so it's no problem. Could do with wireless internet access though.

One thing that is good about this place is that it has a good pool with bar and indoor thermal pool and health spa/suite which I thought was great for a 3 star at these prices.

Stayed B&B and the breakfast was just OK but what you expect from a hotel in Italy so no complaints.

Must say something about the staff. From the front desk to the waiter and especially the bar staff, they were all really friendly, professional and would go out of their way to help - great service!

“OK but no more than that”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

Pros; friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and located close but no too close to centre of Forio.
Cons; small rooms and food only average.

Also think carefully before booking with Solitair Holidays. Their main rep is poor (especially compared to the usually superb Solos reps) and unlike Solos don't use age groups. In theory this can make for an interesting mix but for our group included a lady of 80+ with some health problems (some suspected this included the early stages of Alzheimer's).

Forio is a decent Southern Italian beach resort.
