We stayed at il Castagno for a week in November, and it was truly unforgettable. The cooking and hospitality is outstanding -- our two little boys were welcomed and loved it. The apartment was compact but totally comfortable. The value wa excellent, particularly the half -board option. We had mentioned our younger son would turn four during our stay. Rosa and her family surprised us with a small party for him on his big day, decorating the dining room with balloons, inviting their grandkids, baking a gorgeous cake and firing up their pizza oven! It is a very winding drive up the mountain, be prepared for a good 40 drive to the autostrada. We'd love to return some day. What a treat!

I was first here in september travelling alone, were only home for a week, then I was right back at Il Castagno this time with my children. We have all been falling in love with this place. It's not just the view, the food, the mountainwalks, but especially the family and Michelle, the nicest little dog you can imagine. Hope to be back soon and see the puppies and you guys again :o)
