“good family hotel with good restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

My husband, our 20-year old daughter and I enjoyed our 4-night stay here. Although the room (breakfast included) was average and the bathroom a little small, it included a private patio on the quiet side of the hotel. The hotel's amenities (large, clean pool), good restaurant, bar, 3-minute walk to beach) were very nice. It was a pleasant 20-minute walk along the beach to Chora. Be aware that pool usage allows for babies with no diapers in the main pool and little supervision of children. Otherwise, our daughter loved spending days at the beach and pool while we used our rented car to explore the island. Would definitely recommend this hotel for families. Don't forget to use the free drink vouchers you receive upon arrival.

“Great staff and pool area, but dissapointing rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a Greek Island hopping trip. We booked through Fantasy Travel and did not really know much about the place we were staying. I think that their other choice was booked up.

When we arrived we were a little disappointed it was so far away from the main town and in a scrubby looking area, but you can walk 15 min to town if you want or get a scooter.

The front desk staff are very kind, pleasant and helpful, nothing but the best service from them and friendly to chat to.

The pool area is very beautiful and quiet, it was not very crowded in September and although we did not use the pool, we sat near by to use the internet and watch the sunset.

The room is disappointing, it is really basic. Two twin beds pushed together, rock hard mattresses and scratchy carpet-like blankets. Bathroom has a small shower with a plastic curtain that wraps all the way around you. The hair dryer is very strange, the opening that blows air is the size of a golf ball and is awkward.

The restaurant bar plays music starting around 11 and goes pretty late, it's hard to sleep with the music playing and I don't understand how they expect people to be able to get up in the morning with it playing so late.

We advised our travel agent that we were vegan and to make sure that the hotel served fruit for breakfast as most serve bread, meat, cheese and eggs typically. Well there was a little tasteless melon cut up in the morning, but not much and definitely not enough for both of us to eat for breakfast. We ended up walking to town and carrying a bunch of grapes and melons back our selves to eat in the room since we were hungry.

I think you would enjoy the place if you spend most of your time by the pool or at the beach, a lot of guests were doing this, inside the rooms is not the most pleasant. The mattress is making my back numb as I type...

“Close to Beach and Town Centre”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2010

If you are looking for something very basic, close to beach and town centre, this is pretty good. It also has a swimming pool but allow outsiders, so it can be a bit crowded. Comes with complimentary drink at the pool side bar, also nice having breakfast by the pool. We were given room 48 at first, it's terrible - I can't believe they even consider renting it out, there is no phone in the room and half of the room lights were gone, the bathroom light was also out. We called the front desk, they came after a few hours to replace the room lights but the bathroom was still out, so we have to shower in the dark. Yet, they have some problems getting the room to hook up on the phone network, so finally we got to switch to another room the next day. But if you are looking for a queen size bed, they only have 3 rooms in the whole hotel with that setup, all other rooms come with 2 twin size beds. Internet also not available from the room, so have to head to pool side or front desk foyer to connect to WiFi.

“Good if You Have Transportation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

My wife and I stayed here two nights in June, 2010. The Alkyoni is an attractive 2-story complex arranged around a nice pool area open to a view of the ocean and beach (about50 yards away). It has as welcoming, casual atmosphere that we liked very much. Located at the very edge of the town sea front, it is a 10-15 minute walk to the old-town area, so it is best to have a car or other transportation. We recommend Fun Car.

Our room (#11) was a 2nd floor corner unit with a shared balcony toward the sea and a nice private balcony facing town. It was a large room with low and firm twin beds, two nightstands, a small desk, luggage stand, and armoire. The decoration was simple and attractive. The a.c. unit was quiet and effective.

The bathroom was a bit small, with only a glass shelf above the sink as counterspace. The shower (no tub) was very narrow so that the curtain interfered with you. This was the only downside to the room, which was otherwise very comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was served in the hotel restaurant off the pool area, with a pleasant morning view of the sea. The buffet selection was very good, with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, meat & cheese, and several varieties of bread.

All in all, the Alkyoni is a good choice for Naxos if you don’t mind being a little removed from the center of the town.

“three times here and have booked again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

this hotel is set in beautiful gardens, well kept. The staff are helpful but not intrusive. 2 minutes to the beautiful beach and a 15 minute walk to Naxos town. The family rooms are two rooms together with a slide door and room is a great size. Other rooms are on the small side but clean and comfortable. The rooms by the kitchen vent are noisy though. We are about to go for the 4th time. Its a lovely place to stay.
