“What a great place!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

My wife and I were traveling in Greece a couple of weeks ago and ended up visting the island of Naxos. We thought we'd spend a couple of days on the island before we went somewhere else,

However, as soon as we found the Hotel Anixis, we knew that we'd be staying in Naxos much longer than we planned. Our room, which cost only 35 Euros (this was an off-peak rate) was fantastic! It had a balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea, comfortable beds, a nice-sized bathroom, and a refrigerator. It was also located very close to an old castle, and was a 10 inute walk to the restaurants by the port.

The owner was very hospitable and helped us plan our trips to the small Greek villages. Based on his suggestion we had the chance to see the kourous (statues dating back to 500 BC). This was one of the many highlights on the trip.

I highly recommend this hotel. It was extrremely comfortable and quiet. I'm sure there are fancier hotels around, but none quite as special as this place. As they say in Greeece, Bravo!!!

“Perfect location, comfort and service”

Fantasticly well located, not even 5 minutes walk from the heart of Chora and only a few minutes walk from a huge car park. The room was really lovely, with a big bed, nice French window and a lovely balcony with amazing views (on the sea, the Grotta quarter, and nice churches). the room had one of the bext bathrooms I had seen in Greece, with a proper shower. The owner was really kind and gave us lots of good recommendations for eating. I would recommend this place and would love to go back again. We were there for two nights at the end of our Cyclades tour and this was a great way to finish our holiday.

“A Home from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. The attraction is the location - with spectacular view over the Old Town of Naxos and Aegean towards Delos and Mykonos, the friendly and helpful owner and staff, and the beautiful garden. The rooms we would describe as adequate and comfortable for the price. Most have private balconies; all have well-fitted compact shower-rooms, fridge, TV, safe, and good wi-fi access. The Old Town is exclusively pedestrian; however the free public parking is just 5 minutes walk away and there is an excellent Co-op store, traditional bakery and choice of tavernas nearby. We have recommended the Anixis to our friends - many of whom have since become ‘regulars’ like us.

“Surly and devious owner even if location is great !”

Warning: Dimitri, the owner, is a surly and unreliable hotelier. I stayed there many times over the years when his father ran the business. I shall never stay there again. I wrote a longer review but it was not accepted. I am a traveler and not a competitor trying to stain the reputation of another. It shocked me as to his rudeness and deviousness then tripadvisor didn't take my comments.
How strange! Can one only say nice things when there was a very bad experience?

Room Tip: Do not stay there. Your room make reek of mold.

Dear tripadvisor I send you this e-mail because a client’s review on your web site.

My name is DIMITRIOS SIDERIS and I am owner of the HOTEL ANIXIS since 1990. My father started this business since 1975. This mean that every year we accommodate 1000 clients without problems as you can also read other client reviews on your web site.

I had a reservation for a single room from Sunday 5 June to Sunday 12 June 2011. The reservation was made by a lady, who claimed she was an old client.
Because she was an old client I went to the port at 24:00 to help her helping with her had bags. I also offered to her a double room instead of a single room where she reserved at the price of the single room and I had the feeling that she is going to be happy with this offer.

On Monday morning she came to the reception and she complained that she had hearth problems ( asthma ), so she did not slept well in the room.
We offered immediately to her another double room that renovated on 2011 with 10 sq. meters sunny balcony with sea view.

On Tuesday morning she came to the reception and she asked to me to have another room facing to our garden, because she liked to work and have garden and sea view.
We were happy to change her room and we offered to her the room she requested, ie., a room with both garden and sea view.

On Wednesday morning she came at to reception and she asked to me to return to the first room because the free Wi-Fi had not so strong signal inside the room compared to the balcony.
I apologized and I informed her that her first room was occupied and there is no an other room free to move.

On Thursday morning she phoned to me from the town to let me know that she were going to leave one day earlier due to ferry schedules. I told her that there was no any problem at all.

On Friday night 23:50 she came to the reception to check out. I issued the receipt, but she did not agree to pay the first night because she did not sleep well. I accepted it and I told her that there is no problem. After that she thought that she stay only 4 days at our hotel instead of 6 days and she started shouting at 24.00 in the night, disrupting other visitors.
As a result of that, I informed her that I was not going to accept any payment, because she was not happy in the hotel after 6 days and we did not want our visitors be unhappy. In other words, her stay in our hotel was offered to her a for free. She went to her room and next morning she left.

She accommodated in the hotel for 6 days and because she was not happy with her stay, I did not charged anything at all, that occurs expenses plus the taxes from our side and at the end she accused me, and all the hotel. If she were not happy she could leave the hotel after the first day and also she would not ask to return to the same room, that already tried and she could not stay due to health problems.

I would kindly ask you to remove this review because it is unacceptable for me personal and for the hotel. She is accused me personal and the hotel. I accepted all her demands and desires, I did not accept any payment for a 6-day stay and at the end she going to make personal and economic damage to our family business.

Yours sincerely

DIMITRIOS SIDERIS

“A winner !”

Hotel Anixis is set in a colourful refreshing garden at the base of the Venetian Castro, close to restaurants, the ferry and bus station. Our room had a great view over the harbour. The shared balcony was adjacent but we were not disturbed by the noise nor did we feel crowded. The room itself was comfortable, it had all the necessary features including fridge, wifi, personal safe and an adequate bathroom with plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is great value for money, a wonderful place to base yourself in Naxos.
