The hotel was quite large, with a variety of rooms and 3 swimming pools as well as a 1 min walk to its own private beach.
You could tell the hotel had some age to it, however the room was a good size and very clean as was the hotel area in general.
The hotel is placed in a secluded area in the mountains with beautiful views, the rooms are close to the beach ranging from a 1min walk to a maximum of 5 min walk. Next to the hotel is a small village about a half an hour walk away, where there are some local shops and you can buy some authentic greek items. There is a small house turned museum, dedicated to the artist El Greco who was from there which was a pleasant trip. There are not many shops in the area if you don't have transport, but the hotel offers most things you need anyway.
I was renting a car while staying there so made a couple of excursions, I saw that the hotel offered trips and I definitely recommend going to Xania for a day.
The staff was always friendly and helpful and seemed to be from all around europe. The room was cleaned everyday and always to a satisfactory standard. There was a sign on the wall asking to keep the towels for more than a day if they were not dirty to help the environment, pity I didn't see it till the last day, but it's always nice to know there are people out there who care.
They also offer a pick up and return ironing service which was quite handy and quick as well.
The food to be honest was one of my favourite parts of this holiday!
With breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet served daily I can say there was not a moment where I went feeling hungry.
The breakfast was standard, with eggs, sausages, bacon, cereals, fruit, chocolate pancakes and all the rest you can think of.
Lunch and dinner, both had a good variety of hot and cold foods. They had many options to choose from and you could pile your plate as high as you want or just go back for more, my personal best was any dish made with the eggplant, whatever dish it was in, tasted great!
For desert there were usually three or four options and no matter how stuffed i was from the main course, I always managed to make room for them because they were so tasty, especially the cream ones, mmm just thinking about them now is making my mouth water. They also had fresh fruits and ice cream if you wanted to be a bit more healthy but I never did :)
They had three swimming pools, one in the shade which seemed good for the kids and two other bigger ones. I personally only swam in the pool once, it was very clean and the water was chilled to a nice temperature. I spent most of my time on the beach which had the hotel on one side and a mountain on the other side. The beach was shared in half with another hotel but you wouldn't notice, the shore was a bit rocky but once you got a bit further in the sand was nice and soft. They had plenty sun beds and umberallas for shade. There is also a small beach bar for drinks and snacks so you don't have to walk far if you got thirsty.
there was an array of activities from yoga, to table tennis, beach volleyball and many other activities for kids and adults.
The room was quite spacious and had all the basics such as, couch, tv, shower, A/C, minibar, safe etc.
All the sheets and pillows were clean and room service changed them daily if you wanted. There was a balcony overlooking the beach with beautiful views in the day and night. If you left the window open you could hear the waves, I couldn't think of a better way to fall asleep. Just remember to close the mosquito guard as I learned the hard way not to forget.
