I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, being made feel comfortable and at home with Fatima's generous and caring attention and lovely setting. I noticed some reviews were not happy with the close proximity of the trains to the building, but I didn't really notice them because I walked a lot around the beautiful town and environs of Bacharach and went to bed tired.
Next time I explore that area further, I will certainly stay there again because it is quite central, with train and boat transport very close and is reasonably priced.
The WiFi worked well in my room, contrary to previous review.

We have just returned home from Hotel Kranenturm in Bacharach. We had a family room in the tower. This was our third visit but not our last. Fatima and Kurt are excellent hosts. They made us feel very welcome and lavished lots of fuss on our little girl. The hotel is unpretentious, comfortable, welcoming, very clean and very convenient. There is a carpark a few yards away from it, a boat docking station for trips on the Rhine almost directly opposite, lovely walks to the castle and beyond at the back. Shops and restaurants are only a few yards away. It is beautifully positioned between the Rhine and the town of Bacharach, within the town walls, and it affords great views of the castle and the river (both if you stay in the tower). Our room was simply furnished but had everything we needed. The restaurant serves lovely evening meals and breakfasts.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay in the castle portion of this hotel. The entire hotel was as beautiful as the town. The Lady that runs the hotel is extremely helpful as well as entertaining. My wife and I just mentioned that we like liverwurst and the next day at breakfast she brought out a plate of it just for us. The cook is amazing. If you go, definately try the saurbraten or the pork loin. The town is one of our favorites in Germany, small cute shops combined with hiking through wine vineyards.

We stayed in the tower for two nights. The room was very clean, very comfortable and quite. The triple pane windows and tower stone walls insulated us very well from the train noise. The location is inside the walled town of Bacharach with Staleck Castle, Posthof, vineyards and the KD boat dock all within easy walking distance

Fatima, our hostess met us upon arrrival and made us feel at home immediatley. She was very helpful with suggestions for boat tours and directions to areas of interest.

Breakfast was included with the room and included both hot and cold menu items. I would recommend this hotel to my friends
