Perhaps we were lucky, but we have no real complaints. We were two families of 3 and 4 persons respectively. The smaller group had an open plan mezzanine type room with bed upstairs and sofa bed downstairs together with balcony, near the pool. Ours was in the older building near reception and had a living room with sofa bed, 2 bathrooms and a bedroom with further single-bedded section beyond a curtain, unneeded by us for sleeping purposes. Being on the ground floor we were also lucky to have a terrace with table & chairs for al fresco breakfasts etc. My advice with P & V and similar is always book the largest accommodation you can sensibly afford - it is worth it. Swimming pool and table tennis were a hit with the youngsters. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the great thing is that it is central, so it is only a short walk down the hill to the fabulous harbour, either for breakfast supplies or dinner. No need to drive out anywhere (the bridge toll certainly deters trips to the mainland), once you have hired your cycles, which is a must. Therein lies our only mini-gripe. Seemingly unadvertised, the place has a discount arrangement with a local bike supplier. We had pre-booked bikes before arriving, but thought we would see what was on offer via P & V. Don't bother, unless you get there early - they didn't have what we wanted and the bikes looked second rate and tired. We reverted to our pre-booked shop - YOO TOO, which was excellent and they even gave us the same discount! I would throughly recommend booking with them online before you go. Be prepared for Ile de Re prices to be at the Parisian end of things to match many of the clientele at holiday times.
