Lovely hotel, right on the beach with very good facilities. This was ideal for our three year old who loved the beach and the friendly hotel staff. The beach doesn't have many waves and was safe for paddling, as long as you avoid the oyster beds - although these are not directly in front of the hotel.
The hotel doesn't appear to get too many English visitors according to the reception staff. These all spoke excellent English, but some French helps with the restaurant/bar staff. The room was comfortable, with a sea view, balcony and air conditioning. Outside areas were good with a very pleasant terrace, and plenty of sun loungers. The pool was nice, but a little cold for the little one and appears to use salt rather than chlorine or similar, which was unusual especially as it makes you more buoyant!. Pool also contains a number of aqua exercise machines
Food was excellent, we switched to half board on arrival as restaurant was very pleasant and it was a good deal. Breakfast had good variety, but the highlight was the evening buffets, on two nights we were there. Unlimited local oysters, crab, prawn, and a fish dish cooked in local beer which was fantastic.
Hotel was quite quiet when we were there, which made it very relaxing, and its tucked away on its own, which we liked. However if the restaurant isn't to your liking it would be necessary to use a bike or car. Small train goes from a station nr hotel entrance which was a nice day out. Flag it down on its way to the Atlantic side beach and then stay there for a few hours then train into town for a meal and return later in the day and drop off (tell the driver your stop). Excellent day out.
