“Rural French Farmhouse”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2006

We stayed at La Feriere for 5 days in November and enjoyed our stay. We found the house to be a little difficult to find but it was certainly worht the effort. The area is quite remote and about 30 to 40 minutes from Bayeau. There was no night life in Caumont-L'Evente and no restaurants in the area either. We had dinner at La Feriere twice and both were excellent. The beds were standard double beds so, if you are used to a king or queen, they are quite small (but comfortable). We would certainly stay there again.

  • Liked — beautiful old house
  • Disliked — remote, small beds

“Quaint Bed and Breakfast in the Country”

We stayed at Manoir De La Feriere for one night in July 2006. We paid 68 Euros which was a steal! The Bed and Breakfast is located near the D-Day beaches - a definite must-see! The house has been eloquently preserved and restored with modern convieniences. We were amazed when we walked in the front door. Pippa served us tea on arrival and made us a dinner reservation nearby upon our request. Breakfast was very good and Pippa made sure we had everything we needed. She has donkeys and horses in a pasture in the backyard that were fun to see. Staying here is definitely worth the drive. We highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

“Wonderful countryside retreat and base for touring.”

La Feriere was an oasis in the countryside for my trip to Normandie. I
spent three nights there and didn't want to leave. I rented a car in
Caen and drove the 30 minutes to get there. Once there the drives to
all the Normandie beaches, Bayeux, Ste Mere Eglise, etc. were easy and
enjoyable. The breakfasts were the best I had on my entire 24 day trip
to France and the United Kingdom.

The owners made me feel welcome, comfortable, and couldn't have been
more helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would go back in an
instant should the opportunity arise.

The room was large and immaculate. The grounds were everything you
would want in a rural Bed and Breakfast. The Calvados area is beautiful
and La Feriere is also convenient to the Cider tour.
