Booked the hotel through their central reservation website 4 days in advance at a good rate and made them aware we were going to arrive late. We received an email back from the actual hotel saying that they would close at 22.00 hrs, so if we could call beforehand we would receive an access code and room number. On our way to the hotel I was about to call them for these details, but they made the effort to call me and gave me all the details (in English, although my French is not too bad) and was informed that the room key would be in the door. Upon arrival at around 23.30 hrs the access code worked all fine (code is and for gate onto premises and front door) but standing in front of our room, there was no key in the lock. I rang the hotel number and after hearing the phone ring behind the closed reception desk, I feared the worst. Luckily the call got diverted and was answered by a lady. I explained the situation and within 2 minutes she was with me (it appears that this lady lived in a part of the hotel, above their restaurant). she found the key (still behind the reception desk) and apologised.
The room itself was very small (think Etap if you've ever stayed there before) but I was expecting this after reading other reviews and it was for only 1 night. Room itself has flat screen tv, all the soap bits and pieces in the bathroom and even disposable bath slippers! Breakfast itself was great - a lot of choice if you like continental breakfast - and it was help yourself to whatever you wanted. The receptionist was friendly and although I tried to speak French with her, she responded in English.
For a two star rated hotel I was definitely not disappointed.
