This is a perfectly pleasant, clean and functional hotel. I ate one of my evening meals in the reastaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food given the budget price range of the hotel. I got a good nights' sleep on both nights that I stayed here. The breakfast is good, basic continental - though no cooked option as far as I could see - the 'far breton' (traditional breton prune pudding) is very good. The hotel is quite close to the river which makes for a pleasant place to go for an evening/morning run.
On the downside, the hotel is in the middle of an uninspiring suburban commercial/residential area with few local amenities. Apart from the McDonalds across the road there are no other restaurants within walking distance. There are bus stops close by but no train station so I had to take taxis everywhere (e.g. to centre ville or my customer) which was a bit boring.
It would have been useful for foreign travellers if the room had contained some instructions for using the bus service: Where to catch the bus to Rennes centre, what bus number, where in Rennes to catch the return bus from at night, and what is the time of the last bus.
