I see that previous reviews were over six months ago. I think some things have changed. First the positive. It sounds like the rooms have been redone since prevous posts. They are small, but spotless and comfortable. It is nice to look out the windows at the countryside in this charming town. We chose the five course dinner. The food was flawless--every course was delicious. Now the strange part--the negative. We never saw anyone in the reception area. I had to go into the restaurant to find out how to check in and finally a person came to give me keys. There was no help to the third floor with luggang--no elevator. Although the food was delicious, the timing of the courses was way off. The first two or three came quite quickly and then we waited over an hour for the main course. All this without any explanation or comment from the server. The next morning there was no one in the breakfast room to help patrons and when we checked out a woman who had been mopping the floor in the kitchen came to help us. Reviews from last year mentioned the charming chef and his wife---they were not in evidence during our visit. Maybe this was just an unusual weekend or something. If we had been greeted warmly and told that they were short staffed it would have made a big difference in my review.
