My wife Cristine and I decided to go away for the Easter holiday, some 20 years ago she came through Durbuy and ever since than she wanted to go back there. That is why we booked for two days at the Hotel Caleche. And boy did we love it. Durbuy prides itself on being the world's smallest town, only 450 inhabitants. The hotel is situated right in the town centre. On entering we were greeted by several very friendly waiters, we got to know Etienne especially. He showed us to the room and he told me where to find a free parkingspace, 300 meters away. The room are quite spacious, with a reasonable bed, mind you there is no minibar. But that is not a problem as there are a lot of wateringholes around. In Durbuy they make their very own very good beer, so who needs a minibar. We ate very well that evening, the portions are very large and it all tastes wonderfully, try the ham, you won't regret it. The waiters in this place are very unique, they make very long hours and from start to finish they are having a ball doing it.. All in all we love the Caleche, we love Durbuy, you go and try it yourselves, you won't regret it!!!!
