“Nice hotel, small rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2011

Service was wonderful, we were travelling with our 17-months-old daugher and they immediately brought a baby chair and were very helpful with everything. We had dinner, and food was delicious. We also had afternoon tea, and they serve great waffles.
Rooms are clean but a bit small (all under a high roof with Velux windows) for 2 adults and a little girl (we brought a baby bed, which just about fit between the bed and the wall), and the en-suite bathroom was up a flight of narrow stairs, which is not too convenient. The room was quite cold when we arrived, but electric heaters worked well and in no time everything was warm. The room was clean, and overall experience very good.

“hotel okay, restaurant great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

The room was quite small with a very very old TV...no coffee making facilities. There were, however, two computers available for the guests to use for free. When we first arrived, with reservations, we were shown a room with the bathroom up in a loft area at the end of a long staircase...facing the town square. We immediately requested another room and were shown a room with the bath on the same floor, facing the forest, which we took. The restaurant was excellent...we ate there both nights. The hotel was conveniently located in this very tiny town.

“Fantastic Friendly Hotel”

Seven of us spent 3 nights at this gem of a little hotel whilst attending the Spa Francourchamps Grand Prix. It is a fairly basic 3 star but it far exceeded our expectations in terms of its quite superb service especially from the waiting staff in the evenings all of whom made a special effort to accomodate any requests that we made. They served us with genuine warmth and good humour and the food provided was also excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this great little place to anybody touring the Ardennes region. Well done to all at La Caleche.

“Outstanding Again!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2007

I stayed here for the second time in April, over the Easter holiday. I was very impressed after my first stay in 2006, and the second visit was even better. The location is wonderful, and the rooms are attractive, very clean and so quiet. The hotel is great value for money, and the restaurant serves excellent food, whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner. However, what really makes this place are the staff. They cannot do enough for you, and they welcome you back as family. Whether it's Vincent, Etienne, the chef or the cleaners, all seem to genuinely enjoy having you there. La Caleche is as good as it gets!

“a great little place”

My wife Cristine and I decided to go away for the Easter holiday, some 20 years ago she came through Durbuy and ever since than she wanted to go back there. That is why we booked for two days at the Hotel Caleche. And boy did we love it. Durbuy prides itself on being the world's smallest town, only 450 inhabitants. The hotel is situated right in the town centre. On entering we were greeted by several very friendly waiters, we got to know Etienne especially. He showed us to the room and he told me where to find a free parkingspace, 300 meters away. The room are quite spacious, with a reasonable bed, mind you there is no minibar. But that is not a problem as there are a lot of wateringholes around. In Durbuy they make their very own very good beer, so who needs a minibar. We ate very well that evening, the portions are very large and it all tastes wonderfully, try the ham, you won't regret it. The waiters in this place are very unique, they make very long hours and from start to finish they are having a ball doing it.. All in all we love the Caleche, we love Durbuy, you go and try it yourselves, you won't regret it!!!!
