Me, my boyfriend and our dog went to La Roche-en-Ardenne for a hiking weekend and we considered the end of March to be still too cold for camping. For two nights (with breakfast included) we paid a total of 80 € for 2 people + dog and we found it a good price-value ratio.
The hotel is located basically in the centre of La Roche, there was a plenty of parking spots cca 100 metres away from the hotel.
On arrival, we were asked to pay the bill, which was a bit strange, because later we saw some other guests paying for their stay at the check-out.
Apart from that, the staff was nice and friendly and everything was very clean.

Friday evening we took dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food and presentation was excellent. Breakfast was good too, considering the size of the hotel -10 rooms. Breakfast was served between 8 and 10 AM and the check-out was required by 10h30, which we found a little early especially as on that weekend the time changed to daylight saving time and we ‘lost’ one hour of sleep.

From our room (No. 10) we had a view to La Roche; it was a very simple room (no TV or radio, although towels and a soap bar were provided). There was a sink in the room, WC and bathroom were in the corridor, shared by 3 other rooms. We never had to wait to use the restroom. The WC area is very small and I can imagine that some taller people could have problem to fit in. The shower in the bathtub needed some repair; when switched to the shower-mode the shower cap brought only 50 % of the water and the rest was just running from the tape.

The walls are quite thin, and you hear everything from the corridor, so bring some earplugs with you. First night some some drunken party was coming back at 2AM and another loud and inconsiderate group leaving at 7AM in the morning. Luckily no noise issues the second night.

In conclusion, not as our first choice, but we would probably book here again as a good budget accomodation to do some more hiking in the area. And when looking for a romantic stay and comfort we'll book somewhere else.
