This hotel is an absolute gem, we were greeted by the owners who are always avaialble. The food was excellent even for a fussy husband. A guest who sat near us had a food intolerance and each day the staff asked if they could provide an alternative. The hotel is in the process of being modernised, we had a beautiful clean bedroom with excellent views and a wonderful warm double sized shower. The hotel was quiet at night, and the facilities (sauna, pool etc) could be used at any time. The owners were always happy to accomodate, the bar was open if you wanted it to be.
The ski bus came every hour as stated and it was a 5 minute ride to the lifts. If you wanted to walk to the closest slope it was 2 minutes away and you could ski back to the hotel.
All in all this is an excellent base for skiing and walking and I will definitely be visiting again.

We have just returned from a fantastic week at the Alpenblick. The Hotel although just out of town is fantastically placed for the Graukogel ski area, and the ski bus stops just outside if you want to ski in Bad Gastein itself.

The hotel has a really friendly feel to it, All of the staff were really helpful, small bar which means you tend to get to know your fellow guests. The food was fantastic, a real taste of Austria, and the drink prices are really reasonable. In fact try the red housewine before you spend more on a bottle, we found it to be great quality.

Our room was fine, everything looked new.

We would definitely stay here again.

We had a good time staying at Hotel Alpenblick. There were six of us, half board, skiing for a week.

It is a family run hotel with very helpful and charming owners and staff. The dining area is roomy and has a panoramic view over Stubnerkogel mountain. The breakfast was great; it is a mixture of traditional Austrian food - cold meats, cheese, cakes etc - along with the cereals, fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fresh rolls, juices, coffee and selection of tea.
The evening meal was 3 courses + the salad bar, with three choices of each course including a vegetarian option. The food was well cooked, delicious, served promptly, and plenty for us.

The room we had was a 'standard room' in the older part of the building. It was clean, comfortable, with a small en-suit including a shower. There is a heated outdoor pool which most of us used in the evening - great fun all round. There is a games area with a pool table and table tennis. The bar area is small but you can take your drinks into the lounge. This is quirky with a mixture of various furniture, clocks and a piano, nothing like the uniform livery you get in large hotel chains, but we liked it.

There are many ski lifts in the area, the closest, Graukogel, is a few hundred metres away and easily walked to. The Stubnerkogelbahn gondola in the town centre would be a difficult walk from the hotel in ski boots, but the ski bus stops right outside the hotel regularly during the day and stops close to the lift. The ski bus service also goes to Angertal, Sportsgastein and Bad Hofgastein although we didn't use it for those journeys because we had a car. The hotel has a secure outside store where you can leave your skis.

The Hotel is situated in the higher part of Bad Gastein valley, there is a pathway that takes you to the river, church and centre of the town. It took us about 20 minutes of pleasant brisk walking to get to the centre of town.

Parking was quite tight at the hotel, but we always found a space.

.Very nice hotel, nice spacious rooms, not very modern but very cozy. Good breakfast. Nice staff , who was very keen that we were fine.
