“Just Like Home”

Just back from a skiing trip at Berwang where we originaly booked a hotel in Reutte which was very disappointing. Looked at trip advisor and decided to look at Hotel Maxiilian which deserves No.1 spot. We arrived early in the morning due to leaving our other hotel as quickly as possible!! When we were greeted by Monica. WE arrived at 8.30am and she invited us in for breakfast which was fantastic had not even stayed their the night before.Food is vry good too. They have nice rooms which are very cosy and I would like to thank Gabi, Monica and Damir for fab Hot Chocolate he makes. Will visit again very soon. This should be 4* Hotel, you feel right at home being famiy run with the personal touch that you do not get in big hotels.

“Be sure of your reservation. 476 Euro for one night stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

Be sure of your reservation! If you try to change it earlier the hotel will quickly advise you of a little known Austrian Hotel Law where the hotel has the right to (AND WILL) charge you up to 100% of the remainder of the original reservation. It cost us 476 EURO for ONE night’s stay because we were disappointed and decided to leave. I am glad our original reservation was only for 4 days. We have stayed there several times in the past but the rooms are now out dated, breakfast is skimpy, the towels are old, small and course.

“Wonderful Hospitality!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

My husband and I stayed with Gabi and family for 4 nights. Gabi and her staff treated us like family. The restaurant was wonderful and the hotel peaceful located in a valley with mountain views all around!
We were seated at the same table each morning and evening. Gabi gave us daily advise on where to go and the best way to get there. It is a great location to easily drive or hike to castles, shopping, mountains and other attractions. Gabi loaned me hiking boots and a water proof coat for the unexpected snow and rain! I can't thank Gabi and her family and staff enough for helping to making our vacation in Austria and Germany a wonderful experience. Go to this hotel, you will love it.

“Relaxed and Convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

We only stayed one night, but we were able to get so much done in the time we were there due to Gabby's great help. We arrived in the afternoon and we were able to give her our laundry and she had it done by the evening. We asked about hiking to the nearby castle and she gave us walking directions from the hotel. This area is gorgeous in the springtime and our hike was exhilarating, the castle, so fun to explore. Gabby arranged a massage to happen after our hike for my husband, and then after that, all we had to do was go downstairs for an excellent dinner in their restaurant complete with polka music and live singer. Couples danced until midnight. Our room had a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and lovely view of the castle and mountains. This is one hotel that stands out among the many we stayed at on our two-week, whirl-wind European trip as a place that was relaxed, beautiful, and had incredible service. We hope to visit again for longer next time.

“Gateway to the Alps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

Great Hotel on the Austrian border. Good rooms and great food at a fair price. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were excellent and the ambiance was relaxing yet energetic. Gaby (the owner) has all kinds of side trips planned and ready - just tell her where you want to go. Alpine drives, small Bavarian villages - all are within an hour drive.
