“Absence of service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Hello I would like to tell about the impression about this hotel. The given hotel is located in a successful place: on cape from which the remarkable view of the sea and near lying islands opens. The complex is buried in verdure. Very quiet, not a populous place (at two restaurants belonging to hotel at o'clock of a supper there was only one person except our company). Kitchen mediocre, not fresh products that most likely is connected with low attendance of the given restaurants. The most important estimation is absence of service, i.e. completely not competent staff.
At supper to us have submitted a bottle of wine which has appeared begun to ferment. The wine smell was musty, taste of wine sharp. (Such sometimes happens and it is considered norm. For this purpose a few fault in a glass for tasting always moves.) We have notified on it the waiter and have asked to replace a bottle. On what he has answered that more such kind of wine at them isn't present available. And we have made a concession and have asked to replace to us this bottle with any to the friend. On what the waiter has answered that at their restaurant in general wine has ended. We have been upset (though understood that this lies) as we counted for pleasant evening in the bosom of the family with wine and with стэйками. The waiter has there and then asked us to settle an account for wine, on what we tried to inform to it elementary knowledge of wine giving. On what he has called the manager. Which has appeared not brought up, aggressive and not adequate. He in the violent form said that we are obliged to pay this spoiled bottle. On all our arguments and offers to pay only for a glass which we have actually tried (we even suggested to pay this wine if someone drinks a glass from the personnel from this bottle, but probably they it is poisoned didn't want) the manager answered with aggression and tried to fasten fight: pushing men, sufficing girls for the person. We tried to smooth a situation as with us there were children who by this moment have been frightened. But "manager" has snatched on one of us. During this moment the personnel from kitchen has dragged this mad. We arriving to half-this shock have settled an account for a supper (not including the spoiled bottle of wine) and have passed on a parking where we were waited nearby by 20 persons of same "managers". Which have declared that that they won't let out us from territory while we won't pay the gone wine. They have locked gate and have propped up our cars. We have called in police, but accepting calls didn't tell english. In tourist police too not who didn't speak english Ph. We haven't found the consul. All it proceeded 4 hours. Then more senior manager has come it is hotel which probably had though what that representation about wine givings. It has tried wine and having writhed, something has told the repaired. Then to us gate have opened and we could leave hotel. In general if you not the fan of fisticuffs, dismantlings and a negative I do not advise you to stop in this hotel.

“Pure Relaxation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

The room was amazing large and airy the beach was remote and secluded. The food was tasty especially at the restaurant on the beach which is where we ate. Didn't really use the pool as swam mostly in the sea. The hotel is very remote. It is huge and sprawling and at the top of a hill away from the village. Not that you'd want to be in the village as it was very poor and hard sell. The food out of the hotel was not great, so we stayed and ate purely in the hotel. It is suited mostly for couples, I wouldnt take my teenagers there as they'd be bored. We did 3 nights here after trekking through the northern thailand jungles, that was enough as I was beginning to get bored and I am a real sun worshipper!

“European prices, 3rd world tactics”

This was the 2nd time we stayed here after an amazing stay in 2009. How things have changed. Yes, the rooms are great with fantastic views, but the service has fallen dramatically and we were charged over £120 for a meal we never received that was also apparently compulsory, although never mentioned in the painful reservation process.

The breakfast was nothing like before and the breakfast room was filled with screaming children as opposed to the previous experience of a gentle breeze and amazing views. It is obvious they have been unable to cope with the increase in volume of guests. I also find it repulsive to see people in tight speedos walking around the breakfast bar as if is is normal - it is anything but!!

There was little point of even attempting to rectify the issues - it's Thailand and they simply don't care for the cash cow falang.

Solutions to the problems - employ a reservation team that can understand English and stop being so horribly greedy, devious and criminal like. Ultimately - stay away!

Room Tip: Do NOT book via the internet - best you can do is walk in here and have a better look and negotiate...

“fantasic hotel with beautiful views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

The rooms were amazing, the views were stunning, and the breakfast was fantastic. The only problem with the resort was the fact it is built on a hillside and therefore getting up and down the hill is dependant on a slow cable car, or hotel staff ferrying you up and down. The location is out of the way of central koh chang, but this isnt so bad, as it can get a bit busy there. Overall, if you are looking for a resort to boast about, this is it. the views were breath taking, and there is a high tower restaurant to enjoy them even more.

“Don`t spoil your holidays by staying at this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I don`t recommend this hotel. When I arrived I asked for a Deluxe room as high as it is possible (I have read reviews here before) in top of the hill and I got an answer that everything is already booked. When I saw my room then I was fully disappointed – old furniture, everything looks too worn, I had to wait for hot water 5 minutes, old CRT TV set from last century. At the same time I recognize that there are many free rooms at top of the hill. I requested reception once again to change my room and it was very impolitely done. Rooms at 9000 numbers are much better, however, nothing special. A lot of mosquitoes, snakes and so on. There is no internet connection for free of charge. If you are ready to pay then it`s very unstable, loosing connection every second minute. Food also is awful. I would recommend you to be as far as it is possible from this hotel! Even umbrella and flippers are not for free of charge. No sense for 4* hotel!
