“Location not great, hotel ok.”

Location isn't great out of town a bit. Food in restuarant terrible and over priced. Our room wasn't the cleanest stains on the floor! Our mini bar was a cupboard no fridge, then 10 o'clock one night someone was trying to get into our room my partner opened the door a man and a women no uniform with a fridge, no one informed us and they tried to open the door themselves. Wasn't happy with this! Staff not the friendliest and reception very slow! On the other hand, some good points the two pools were really nice and the free kayake to their private little beach was nice too! Overall there are much better places and prices to stay in white sands. Wouldn't recommend this hotel

“Not what we expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week in November 2011. The hotel did not deliver what it promised in the deal we paid for, ie no welcome drink, no fruit in room, check-in was slow and tedious, although a number of staff were at reception doing nothing. The bar at the pool was not operational, we had to take our drinks with us. The internet room was being renovated, again not able to use it. The room was nice, but very small. Breakfast was ok. You could only reach the private pool by rowing there or walk a long distance. Meals were mediocre and overpriced. If you stay, go to the restaurant next door, which is very good. There is not anything positive I can say about this hotel, apart from its proximity to a spa (can't remember the name), a 2 minute walk, which was excellent and served super drinks as well as food. Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Nice Place for a RELAXING holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I will try to keep this review quite simple... as I want to make everyone's life easier at the time of booking a hotel in Koh Chang.

This hotel is nice. About 20 minutes from White Sands Beach. Therefore it is not walking distance to where ALL the action happens. By that I mean.. bars, restaurant and nice beach.

The hotel has a free shuttle to white sands beach. It goes at 10 am and at 3 pm.... you can also take a "taxi" if you want to go there.

Hotel Facilities:

* The hotel as 2 nice pools. One of them close to the river... very cool.
* Restaurant: Very good... we were 3 adults, we paid around THB 1200 for dinner (including quite a few margaritas)...so... not expensive. however if you compare this price with other ones in Thailand..then, yes... it is more expensive. Breakfast is included... and it is awesome.
* Internet. You have to buy internet. ;-(
* Rooms. Very clean, nice size, with balconies and aircon.
* Beach: Not in front of the hotel. The hotel is by a river...... the beach is approximately 200 m away.

Things to do:
* The hotels has kayaks you can use free of charge. Kayaking in the river is beautiful. You can also use the kayaks to go to the beach.
* Elephant riding. The hotel can organice this for you. I would recommend you go for the longer trip. (2 hours). You can jump into a river with the elephants... AWESOME experience.
*Thai massage.... AWESOME

Price: I booked it thorugh expedia. I managed to get an awesome deal.

Summary: Hotel is good. Not for singles as there are not many things to do in the hotel. Awesome for families and couples looking for a romantic getaway. Will go back again (if I find the same expedia deal!!!)

“Worst Resort in Asia”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I've been all over Asia, and have stayed in 1 stars to 5 stars hotel and resort.
I have experienced, budget vs Luxury, however this resort is so bad that I have to tell everyone about it.

Staff services was slow and undesirable.
It took them 30 minutes for them prepare a coconut on a boiling hot day. Then I watch my coconut sat on the counter for another 10 minutes. I got fed up after that I told them I don't want it anymore, and they want to charge me for it.

Travel service should be avoided.
Booked a snorkling trip through them, and was placed on the a crappy boat (loud, slow, fully loaded, and smell). The boat trip takes 4 hours to get to the first snorkling spot. By then everyone on the boat wants nothing to do with snorkling.

Location.
It is situated at the mouth of the river so the beach is a bit dirty.
Next door, is a super loud Karaoke Bar and Night Club, which does shut up til 12:30AM. We moved the furthest room from the action, yet still struggle to get any peace.

Security is non-existance at the resort.
Anyone from the street can walk into the resort and straight to your room.
One of our neighbour had a party next door til 3AM, and the staff made no attempt to end it, after numerous complaints from other guest. This almost lead to a bad confrontation.

We booked a package deal with them, which included all meals. However, at the end of our stay they tried to charge us for it. They also tried to charge us for drink in the room, which we never touch.

Worst experience ever.

Room Tip: Don't do it

“Charming hotel on sunset beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Lovely hotel, pleasant clean rooms, private beach which is accessed by free kayaks or hotel boat. Only 2 min to the beach but lovely through lagoon.
Beach is part of Aana and you get seats, shades, towels and great sunset views!
Little cafe on the beach not much but some drinks, fries, pad thai etc.
Hotel has lovely buffer breakfast and you can also have Lunch and dinners there which are reasonably priced. You can also walk out of the hotel and go left which will take you to some other little restaurants along the lagoon. If you walk out of the hotel and go right you will go into the main street which has lots of restaunrant along the way.
Massage service in the hotel is expensive, better to book them on the beach
Lovely views
My kids loved free kayaking to the beach and back! Great fun!
Lovely pools! We loved infinity pool

Beds: large beds but very hard mattresses Asian style!
No free Internet: you have to pay which is outrageous because this is not a cheap hotel and they should provide free internet as part of the cost!
This hotel is built around jungle trees and on several levels which means you are walking up and down the stairs to get anywhere...

If you want to go to the main street you can ask for taxi from the hotel (slow) which will charge 50bht per person.

Aana is about 20 min drive from the ferry.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are not as good Location, they are in the 3/4 floor building and long walk to breakfast...
