I stayed here with friends, last week and overall it’s a great place to stay.
The location, service, breakfast, quality of the rooms are all excellent, as you would hope to expect from a hotel of this caliber? It ticks all the boxes it should do at these prices.
However I would add these points of caution, should you decide to book this hotel.
The beach is very short and looks like it was ‘dammed’ when the hotel was built, 2 minutes walk to the right though gives a beach you could land a helicopter on!
WI FI in the room was best described as occasional and most guests set up in reception as actual room reception was limited.
Another issue is the toilet door, it is a large, 2 section, slidding affair and it is located about 8 feet away from the bed, so any after hours transactions need to be kept very quiet. Its a silly design and quite pointless!
All food and beverage prices do not include Service and VAT totaling 17%, so watch out.
You can spare selling a body organ if you buy drinks in happy hour, between 4-5 each day, however after 5 you might need to decide which one of you really needs two kidneys !!!
If you are seeking any type of thrill after 20.00 in this place you are going to be disappointed! You can hear a pin drop here from 20.05 and when we looked in on the on site bar in the late hours, it was empty on all occasions.
In the 2 weeks we stayed here there were alot of young children under the age of 10.
Overall the island is great and just like Samui was 15 years ago, before it was commercially raped, by Tesco, McDonalds and Starbucks!
A taxi can be taken from outside the hotel and costs 50 Baht to White Sands Beach.
As you walk out of the main entrance there are restaurants on the left, we avoided these as they preyed on the lazy and the prices were similar to the hotel.
Turn left on the main road and go round the bend and on the right there is a place called M&Ds. Food good, music until midnight, food till about 23.00.
In summary you do get what you pay for here!
