I am glad I stopped there for one night before carrying on on my journey, the lagoon is beautiful and the weather made it kind of magical. This is an area for motorbike lovers, riding the sand dune overlooking the ocean literally for ever.....

Although the Hippocampe it's a VERY pleasant place to be, it is in despearate need of an update. The bsthrooms need attention, the towels are old, there are a lot of mosquitoes and no fan or repellents. We have stayed many times in hippocampe, but it is time that they invest in the upkeep of the place!

We loved this hotel and the location. Yes it has simple rooms and minimal resort like comforts, but this is made up for by the fabulous location, vistas, ambience and the friendliness of the staff. Meals were great though could have been more Moroccon oriented than French International. It would have been an improvement if the hotel provided books and board games. So remember to bring your own as reading by the pool or on the beach is a good activity for this place. We started here and then moved down to Marrakech and when we got to the big dusty city we yearned for a return to Oualidia and the Hippocampe. We had a boat ride out to see the birds and to do some fishing and this was a very relaxing and memorable part of the stay.
