“Clean, low cost, no frills hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

We stayed at this hotel on a trip down to Luray Caverns, as all the Luray hotels were booked up. It is about a 30 minute drive from the hotel to Luray (we got caught in Flea Market traffic going through New Market on our way down) and was a convenient stopping point for our overnight on the way down. Conveniently located just off the highway and with a connecting Denny's and several fast food options nearby.

This was a very reasonable hotel for the price, no frills but overall quite clean. This was a concern for me as I'd read that a number of the hotels in Luray had had bedbug problems. Not the case here, it was neat and tidy. Both people who worked at the front desk were professional and helpful, and the owner was very pleasant to us on check out day.

However, the bed was somewhat uncomfortable after a night's sleep, and the pillows were terrible! Small, very thin and not comfortable at all. You may want to bring your own pillows, or request extras at check in from the front desk. The towels are also small, and you may want extra. Only three were provided, and we are a family of four. The front desk happily gave us extras on request.

The room and grounds were neat and clean. We used the outdoor pool which was also clean. Otherwise, housekeeping did a nice job. Overall, a worthwhile place to stay for a quick and cheap overnight, but not a hotel I'd return to for the comfort level.

“Would stay here again”

This Super 8 is a nice motel. It's right next to the highway, but we were on the pool side not the highway side, so we didn't hear any traffic. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. There is a Denny's restaurant at the motel. The food was good and reasonably priced. There are a few gas stations and a truck stop across the street. Easy on and off to Rt. 81. The pool is small but clean. I would definitely stay here again.

“Nice motel, GPS gets it wrong.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011 via mobile

This was a very nice basic motel with friendly desk clerks and an adjoining Denny's restaurant.

Clean, large, quiet modern room, fridge, micro., coffee maker and hot drinks in lobby. No safe. Comfortable beds. Complimentary breakfast is very limited.

Outdoor pool.

Phone them for easy directions. Our Garmin GPS tried to send us miles north of Mt. Jackson (but fortunately my husband didn't believe it).

“Good Value for the Money”

Stayed here recently with my husband and two year old. Had a king size bed and room was very spacious. Breakfast offerings were decent...nothing too spectacular. Room was clean and definitely worth the $69 plus tax rate we paid.

“clean and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

needed a rest stop on a driving vacation in va. this hotel was good value when booked online and the room was clean. it was a non-smoker that had unfortunately been smoked in at some time in the past, but to be honest the slight lingering smell was not enough to distract me or be off putting. the corridor outside was also maybe a little scruffy, but those issues aside i had a quiet and restful night. the denny's next door provided a very welcome discount breakfast the next day. i would recommend this place to anyone wanting a clean and safe room. the staff were friendly and very helpful too. this is not a five star joint, but for someone traveling on a budget there were no complaints here. js
