I stopped for the night here entirely on impulse as I had driven a little more than halfway to my 2100 mile trip to Alabama. I was happy
that the rooms had outside entrances and it afforded a pleasant mountain view, sitting well up above the interstate. It was also right next to a Flying J truck stop which meant I could hear trucks idling all night, not that it was a problem, but some folks may prefer more quiet. It also turned out to be one of the more expensive
hotels because of its location at the crossroads of I-81 and I-77. The cheap mattress wasn't terribly comfortable, but the room was very clean and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. The continental
breakfast turned out to be a Sara Lee-type danish and a cup of coffee
from their Mr. Coffee, which didn't interest me. I may stop at a different place next time I make the trip to try to save an extra 15-20% on the room.
