“Pretty basic hotel, but a good deal for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

We stayed here for one night when we were passing through town. Since it was last minute, most of the other hotels were full. I was a little hesistant due to the low star-rating, but it seemed like an ok hotel. I was satisfied with our stay.

The hotel was located close to the highway, but the sign was located in a place that made it hard to see. After driving around the building once, we found that we were in the right place. (They could definitely improve that!) Check-in was quick and easy.

The room was very basic, but clean. It had a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, stove, dishes, silverware, and pots. The bed was a little hard, but not the worst I've slept on. All of the furniture was pretty basic, but it was in ok repair and clean. The bathroom was a good size too.

This is definitely a no-frills hotel, but was good for a night. I might stay here again when passing through.

“one night was enough for me”

I was in town for a class with Liberty. My wife and kids came along to keep me company. We arrived at about 9 PM after a day of driving. When we arrived, the hotel smelled funny and the floor felt uneven and thin. After walking barefooted for 15 minutes, our feet were covered in grime. I checked out the kitchen...but I wouldn't call it that. There were two eyes and nasty dishes. While I was in class, my wife got a call from the front desk (which was directly under our room) and told that our two year old was too loud. Is it our fault that they have thin floors??? The front desk was rude. My wife got online and found another hotel, but I had the car. The other hotel came and picked her and my children up. The driver helped her load all of our luggage (three kids remember), took her to the new place, and helped her unload everything there. The new place (Kirkley) is clean and much nicer. There is an indoor pool, fitness center, and INCREDIBLE staff. It is also $15 less expensive per night and it includes breakfast because I am an LU student. Oh...BTW, the wifi that I'm using to write this review was also free instead of $5. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Lynchburg, please do not make the same mistake that I did and stay at this place. The pictures are NOT a representation of the actual hotel!

“"No Frills" Home Away From Home...”

Stay here quite often as my daughter is a Junior at Liberty University. The price is right, staff are always very helpful & upbeat. The rooms are always clean, very simply decorated, yet comfortable. Having the kitchen is a big plus. Also quite convenient if you have a pet, as they allow cats & dogs. I travel with our family cat and the hotel is always accommodating. High Speed Internet & Pets are only a few extra dollars.
Liberty University is right across the street.

“I stayed 5 minutes and called a cab”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

I booked a room for extended stay and was horrified when I arrived. It is filthy!!!! My room had a very small t.v., the beds are extremely hard (all my classmates complained about this). There was food or something on the walls, everywhere. The people are jerks. They know their hotel needs a lot of work and they just don't care because it is next to Liberty University. They did allow me to cancel and called me a cab. I found the exact same rate at other hotels with microwave, refrig and food!!! IT is sooooooo not worth staying there. RUN. Do not stay if you do not have a car for sure... You must take a cab to get anywhere and cabs are very expensive in lynchburg. IT is ten to 13 dollars to go just a couple of miles.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2009

The hotel (at least our floor and our room) has a horrible stench. While having a kitchen area is a convenience, you will be charged extra if you do not wash your own pots and pans - so be sure to bring kitchen sponges, paper towels, dish soap, and kitchen cleaner along as none of these things are provided. Also, the high speed Internet is NOT free, which no one told us until we logged on. I wasn't looking for luxury when we booked this room, but I was hoping for a place that wasn't dirty. I wouldn't even walk around barefooted because the room was just so dirty.
