The website for this hotel said they only accepted pets under 15 lbs. but when I called the hotel directly, they said they had no size restrictions. There was a $25 non-refundable pet fee, but this is one of those rare hotels where it was just about worth it. At check in, our dog received a complimentary dog biscuit and a poopie bag. A nice note about please picking up after your dog and letting us know where the dog walking area was was attached. They asked for people not to bring their pets to the lobby breakfast area, but went so far as to say that if we wanted to bring a little something back from the breakfast for our dog, that would be OK. VERY open to animals...the one night we spent there we saw at least 6 other dogs staying.
Breakfast was great...eggs, bacon, biscuits, yogurt, cereals, bagels, pastries and the most yummy hot cinnamon buns. The food area was also well attended--I saw the woman check the cinnamon buns under the warmer and throw away some that had started to go hard on top from sitting out too long. The check in clerk when we arrived was beyond friendly and accommodating. We had a king room with a pull out sofa (single size bed), which worked perfectly for our 2 1/2 year old daughter to sleep on. Plus, there was plenty of room for a pack and play for our 8 month old daughter as well. All this, and the dog, AND all of our luggage and we were still quite comfortable in the room. Flat screen TV, with a great selection of channels, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker all in the room. An Applebee's restaurant is directly adjacent, as is a gas station with a convenience store.
We were driving south and only stayed one night along the way, but it was SUCH a great experience. We are likely to plan our routes through here and stay at this hotel again in the future.
