Two of my friends and I stayed at the Days Inn recently. Room was warm when we walked in and a/c was working but barely.Even when we came back much later it was still warm. Beds were comfortable and there was a fridge in the room. It was okay for just one night but I don't think I would go back.

we checked into our room after an exhausting day of driving. We had stayed there on the way and didn't find it too awful, so opted to try again as it's 'pet friendly' and was nearly vacant. That should have been a clue.
The room smelled awful and there was a beeping noise coming from somewhere. We checked the smoke detector thinking maybe the battery was dying, but there was NO battery in it. I tried to call the desk but the phone didn't work. I used my partners cell phone but nobody answered the phone. He finally drove down to the office and got us changed to a new room that smelled better, at least..
In 6 years my dog has never had a flea. We came home with fleas and foot fungus. The rooms may be relatively unexpensive with AARP but the flea treatment and medication for foot was NOT.
Never again.

We made a reservation for a busy college parent's weekend many months in advance. We were quoted the base rate. When we called to confirm, they were planning on charging us over $120 more because all rooms in Lexington were sold out. They don't use email so you have no way to prove your quoted rate. They were also very unprofessional!

Relatively unfriendly front desk clerk (one of the two) who confronted and challenged me as to why I happen to reserve a handicapped room and I was abruptly asked who booked this room to my surprise. I happen to have had no idea that the room booked was this type and was an online booking.
This was a premium priced MOTEL at total of near $100 for the night even with online discount due to the relatively rural location with limited competition.
Issues:
Dead cricket on the bathroom floor
T V did not work horizontal hold gone and would not turn off w remote had to unplug it
Coffee pot was still had coffee in it from the prior occupants
Microwave did not work and literally smelled of smoke when turned on
Other portions of the room two star at best worn wallpaper grout up on the bathroom etc etc.....
When mentioned all of these things to the manager at checkout (too late and tired to move rooms after a 10 hour drive) he offered no apology, no regrets and stated that he would simply mention these complaints to maintenance staff....
a lesson to be learned in customer service and satisfaction for sure.
Would never consider this particular Days Inn as I was a Days "In-Mate" for the night" if all of you know what I mean.
