“Christmas break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stopped over at the Country Inn & Suites on our way from CT to NC for Christmas. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool area was also well maintained. It was convenient to restaurants for a quick dinner. We had a nice breakfast and checkout was easy. We will definitely stop there again the next time we travel by car to NC.

“Spacious, clean room at reasonable price”

I just spent one night at the hotel. The check-in, check-out was a breeze. The staff was responsive to all requests. The room was clean and the toiletries provided were above average. The beds were comfortable. OK, one caveat: the breakfast that was included was what one would expect for a "free" meal: the oatmeal was watery, some of the fruit in the fruit salad was still frozen. But there were fresh blueberries, the coffee was strong and the bagel and cream cheese was filling.

Room Tip: Don't ask for a room with handicap modifications unless you really need them. The regular rooms...

“It was an ok stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

Here is where I learned there are differences within the Country Inn and Suites chain. This particular facility had the typical entry way appearance as the other hotels. However, the service desk was largely unmanned. The room, though clean, I can tell the construction was poorly done. The bathroom counters were severely crooked. The tiles looked like to thrown together and had huge gaps in them demonstrating to me that the owner of this hotel did not have high standards on the obvious. The walls must have been made of just wall paper as we heard the family the whole morning in the next room.
My personal opinion on a scale compared with other Country Inn & Suites where I normally rate a 5, this one comes in at a 3 because the service was lacking and the quality of the hotel does not compare to the others I have stayed in.

“So NICE”

We have stayed twice at this County inn because the location is so great as a stop 1/2 way on our drive and because hot oatmeal is a breakfast option which my son loves. This past trip he forgot his most favorite bunny there, and the staff found his bunny and are mailing it to us. So kind and appreciated.

“Decent hotel in a so so location”

I got a great deal to stay at the Country Inn and Suites this week. I was traveling at the end of Thanksgiving weekend for business in Staunton. The location was convenient for me coming form DC and traveling on to Staunton the next morning. It is located almost adjacent to an I-81 exit.

Unfortunately, if you are coming to visit Harrisonburg, there isn't much about staying here that would be appealing. The property is located back to back with a Hampton Inn which made me feel like there was always someone looking in my window. Also, there are two gas stations right out front and a truck stop down the street. I would definitely not choose to stay here if I was in town for more than just a place to sleep.

On the bright side, I got a great deal, the internet was free and easy, the staff were friendly (if not very professional) and it included a hot breakfast. So it was a good deal, but I'm unlikely to come back.
