“An excellent place to spend the night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

As other reviews have pointed out, this is a great place to stay. Very large rooms, clean and comfortable facilities and a fantastic breakfast buffet. As a traveler with a dog, it was also nice to find plenty of space to walk and throw a ball around. The price is more than reasonable for the return in comfort and quiet afforded at the Village Inn.

“A Gem! Truly Great Retro-Motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

This family owned and operated motel is a little gem. On our recent trip to NYC we stayed here on our way up and again on our way back. The rooms are large and immaculate. There is a couch, side chairs, nice TV, Wi-Fi, mini fridge and microwave. The beds are comfortable and linens and towels are top notch. I don't think you could find a better value for your money!

We had breakfast one day and dinner there one night. Dinner was mediocre at best but breakfast was really good and the coffee was excellent.

Room Tip: Many rooms with 2 queen beds face the pool and playground. This wasn't an issue in Nov. but it m...

“Great stop on a long trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We were traveling down the east coast and happened upon this place. WE LOVED IT and will plan our trip around it next time. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable (the bed was great) and loved the staff. We ate at the buffet and it was some of the best food we have had in a long time. Easy to get into the rooms and I felt very 'at home'. I will definitely be back and recommend to anyone traveling through the valley!

Room Tip: We stayed in a front room and initially were a little concerned about noise, but the room was quiet...

“Long Long Time Ago”

We should never have unpacked our bags... But after a long day and expecting a "Great Place" based on reviews and relatives reccomendation we took the room. That was a big mistake. The room smelled of a strong chemical, the room heating/ air unit roared like a lion and never cut off, and the refrigerator hummed all night. The seafood buffet in the dinning room was institutional at best and was certainly not worth the price. The overall impression that we had was that back in the 60's this place was probably OK but not today. It is very dated and does not come up to AAA standards ??? The only bright spot in the entire facility was Abby at the front desk. She was very welcoming and pleasant. Oh yes and did I mention they do allow pets and our dog thought it was Grrreat !

Room Tip: Don't Stay there

“Fall Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

The Village Inn is a great place. It is a charming inn with a home atmosphere. Everyone treated us special and were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Time allowed us only one meal (breakfast buffet) and we found the food to be outstanding. The selection was very good. The quality and taste was wonderful. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. At first I was a little worried about the traffic noise, as it is so close to Route 11, but by 7pm I hardly heard any traffic. The surrounding area has everything modern but also is a picturesque rural setting with the farms which I loved. I would definately like to stay at The Villiage Inn again and would recommend it to my family and friends. This long-time family owned inn was a welcome change from the chain hotels.

Room Tip: All ground floor rooms, with great parking.
