“Amazing pre/post Deployment Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

All...My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's and this one will have us coming back many times over. Ms Joyce and Mr Lankford are so very welcoming and personable. I am very impressed with the house, the food, the room (Ellington Suite) and the exceptional service Ms Joyce provides. This will be our first destination upon my return from Afghanistan. I encourage all to try this one out and I assure you, you will not be dissappointed.

“Elegance and the Essence of Southern Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

If you are going anywhere near Hampton Virginia, you owe it to yourself to stay at the Magnolia House Inn. Joyce's soothing voice, her gentle manner and her genuine interest in your comfort are just the beginning of your escape from the trials of daily life. This inn soothes your soul. There is nothing you could think of that is not provided. Such a beautiful haven. It is classy without being stuffy. Thank you, Joyce, for putting your whole self into making your guests feel welcome and loved.
Marie-Louise

Room Tip: The Ellington Suite is fabulous. All rooms, however, are lovely.

“Perfect In Every Way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

When you walk in the door of the Magnolia House, your mouth drops. I had been there before but not for a wedding. So when I saw how they had setup the rooms for our wedding, I was stunned. The chairs was beautiful covered and laced with a purple ribbon (which btw, Ms. Joyce asked us what colors we liked). We were greeted at the door like it was the Ritz Carlton. Our guests couldn't believe this well kept secret was right down the street. The ceremony was so appropriate - filled with prayer, commitment, and love. The cake was delightfully moist with just the right amount of icing. Ms. Joyce and crew make you feel like family. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Thank you so much for sharing your heart and beautiful home with us! We will be back for our anniversaries.

“the heart of the home”

This place is a testimony of Joyce Blairs' spirit of how to service humanity in all its splendor.
What meets the eye on the outside is in no comparison to what is on the inside. There is a spirit of Victorian, Neworleans Jazz opulence & comfortablility that is in direct contrast to the 1st class, sterile, tight, business as usual, parfait faux that is typically thrown at you ala Ritz Carlton by paid employees pretending to care or at a minimum is suspect. Isnt it nice when you meet someone who knows they have a good product, backs it up with service, is interested in YOUR welfare, whose voice doesnt have that tinty, jaded,im only after your money communique. The spirit of your host and their home will open your spiritual eye. One of the best kept secrets in Hampton. If your looking for a moving experience this is it. REFRESHING!! MY THANKS AND BLESSINGS TO THE HOSTS. L Lori S.B.

“Magnificent Magnolia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Couldn't have been better! We stayed for our 11th wedding anniversary this past weekend. We had high expectations from all of the great reviews and we were not disappointed! The hosts were more than gracious - they were like family! The home was immaculate and tastefully decorated from top to bottom. The breakfasts (2 for us) were not only visually appealing, but made our mouths sing! Joyce is gifted in the kitchen :) The attention to detail made the overall experience one to remember and we will definitely return to celebrate more milestones.

Room Tip: The haven was aptly named - a pure "haven" to enjoy!
