“Great location, excellent property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I chose this property because of its convenient proximity to my contract work assignment. It's also close to the Short Pump area, with many good shopping and dining options in the immediate vicinity. Outstanding room - very clean, well-furnished, with a generous work space and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've experienced recently. Internet quality was good; cable TV had good selections, just a bit glitchy on occasion. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good complimentary Continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again, and would also recommend this hotel to others.

Thank you so very much for your kind words about the hotel and the staff here. I be sure to share your comments with the team. I also assure you that we are working with our service provider to remedy the "glitchy" performance of our TV signal.

Thank you very much,

“Only 15 minutes from home but felt like vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Was taken there as a weekend birthday getaway and the room was lovely! Very large, layout was nice, plenty of towels. Only complaint was cable glitchy but the bed was so amazing i fell asleep without caring much. We will return soon.

“Don't do it, run!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I wish I could give this hotel a negative rating. Its definitely not worth 160 a night! Don't go by the pics on the site. The rooms are much smaller than they look! There isnt even a dresser. I'm sitting here watching TV on a laptop because the TV is broken. It took 45 minutes to find the hotel because there are no lit signs at the entrance, you can't see it from Cox or Broad. If you're crazy enough to stay here it's behind the Hilton Garden.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I am very sorry that we were unable to provide you with a more positive experience. Under no circumstances should we have ever placed you in a room with an inoperable television. In the seldom case in which a room is discovered to be deficient in some manner it is normally our practice to move our guests to a new, fully functional room. The approach to the hotel is best achieved from the Dominion Blvd. side which does have a rather large lit sign. The decision to not have a dresser was made in an effort to provide more space in the room and is offset by the availability of drawers under the vanity. Should your travels bring you back to Richmond and you find yourself in a position to book a stay with us please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I would be happy personally welcome you back to our establishment.

Thank you very much,

Carl Barnes

“Great Location Near Short Pump Shopping”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We stayed at this Hyatt place for a weekend trip to Richmond for a concert and shopping at Short Pump Towne Center. The hotel is somewhat hidden within a business complex and, I believe, caters more to the weekday business traveler. Therefore, this hotel was a great deal compared to hotels in downtown Richmond (nearer the concert) or hotels adjacent to the shopping area. It was a short drive to both locations and the money savings were well worth the small amount of driving.

The rooms were clean, and perfect for a family of five. Breakfast was included and more than adequate. We would definitely stay here again.

“Not a very long sleep this night...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

Though we think it was a game weekend, and our usual Hyatt was booked, which was why we came to this one, I do not think we will try it there again. A hotel is not altogether to blame for the lack of good manners of its guests, and we did not call up to complain, but I think someone must have after midnight and the CONSTANT doors banging shut....no attempt to shut them quietly. My husband thinks maybe 3 rooms were involved in this. I heard some knocking on the door of Room 409 about midnight. It took another hour to become quiet. Some talking in the hall, in rather loud voices (probably somewhat drunk?) and the loud door banging shut, just about every minute or so, up until about 1 AM. We had to leave a bit after 9 AM so that was a rather short night. It would be the best idea for a hotel to confine those studenets to a floor or a wing of the hotel, and try to shield the rest of us from the very juvenile behavors.

My night was made more uncomfortable by the SCRATCHY sheets. I am not sure what caused this, maybe the chemicals they use to clean? But the Hyatt across town did not have this problem. I finally just basically slept in my robe to protect my skin from the sheets.

Also the glassware for drinking did not have a paper cover over them...which the other Hyatt always does. Whether this actually makes the glass more hygenic, I am not sure, but one feels a bit better about it.

Room Tip: If you actually wish to sleep, let the hotel know that you require a room on a floor without teens o...
