For $200 a night, I felt like I was staying at a glorified hostel. The room does have a nice loft appeal but if you are spending a night in the summer or fall be prepared to have insects in your room. It was very humid outside so I guess the crickets and slugs prefer the cooler brick walls inside the Cape Charles Blue. Now this was on the first floor so I am sure that made a difference. We reported the crickets to the manager when we first discovered them and his response was dissatisfying to say the least. We were told that there was nothing he could do and he said that we would probably be so inebriated that we would not even notice them chirping while we were sleeping. I also found two slugs on the wall, imagine if they had found their way into the bed. The sheets and pillows were damp and smelled like they have been used for a month. I have stayed in a number of hostels in Europe that were comparable to the Cape Charles Blue and they ranged anywhere from $30 to $50 a night. I recently stayed at the Five Gables B&B in St. Michael's, Maryland and I must say that that was a true B&B. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. I hope that the Cape Charles Blue gets it's act together because the area does have potential to be a great Eastern Shore town.

Don't stay at any other place! Blue is right in the center of everything. Beautiful loft spaces with exposed brick, full kitchen, comfy beds and a modern bathroom. Defintely should be your first choice when coming to town!
