A few friends and I decided to stay at Hotel Blue for a night while we were in Cape Charles for a wedding. The website depicted chic rooms with beautiful photographs of the accommodations. In person, the room looked just as beautiful. Unfortunately, the room already had a few inhabitants.
Upon entering the bathroom, there was a big, black bug sitting in the shower. We quickly took care of him and tried to let it slide. One bug is no big deal, right? Well, after getting settled in the room a chirping noise begins to come from the base molding of the wall. Sure enough, there was a cricket nestled just out of our reach. He wasn't the only one. Oh, no. The entire night we heard chirping coming from the walls. Several times we actually got up and were able to kill the few that emerged from their hiding places. In the morning we had a total of about five crickets and two slugs that we were able to exterminate. The ones that we couldn't get to are probably still living there since the owner of Hotel Blue completely disregarded our complaints. He "didn't know how to get rid of them".
If you like the idea of indoor camping, then this place is for you. If you prefer to sleep in a bed sans crickets, then I'd look elsewhere.
