Stayed one night with a group that went fishing. Roaches running around. TV only picked up a few channels and they were fuzzy. Price too high. Thank goodness only in the room for 10 hours to shower and sleep. Only positive thing ...staff very friendly.

this would be top of my list of "never again"....it was advertised, first of all, as having a pool...it had a pool all right....but no water in it; two of the electrical outlets were not working, the shower curtain was full of mold, spider webs all over the front window as well as the window curtain, the upholstered headboards were shredding, the carpets were badly stained and pieces of the A/C unit were broken off and sitting on top of the unit...the unit, itself was working, thankfully. If I had not prepaid for this room, I would have ran out. Thank God it was late at night and just for a couple of hours' sleep.

I have stayed at the Kiptopeke Inn for the past few years when on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. As it was always just for one night, a relative and I were okay with the so-so conditions. Certainly not what I was used to staying at but it would do and never had any real problems.

Our visit last week was different: [1] No hot water due to a supposed power outage. When I asked for a key to another room so that we could take showers, I was told to “let the water run for quite a while”; [2] We had no phone. Hard to get a wake-up call with no phone. I was told the maintenance man would bring one. I asked that this be done within 1/2 hour because we needed to get to bed. Man never showed up; [3] Although a continental breakfast was included and it was on par with some other continental breakfasts I have had, it doubled as a restaurant and no one waited on us (no one was there); and [4] Who would want to swim in their green-watered pool.

Overall, I give this hotel a “terrible” rating and will never stay here again. I can handle a lot in my accommodations but not this time. Why we were given this room when the receptionist knew the problems is beyond me. A letter is going to the management.

We were driving through the area and needed a place to sleep....that's all. This place was the grottiest place of all time. Lifted the sheets and they looked slept in, had hairs and stuff in it. We left and didn't stay.
